I was thinking, if we start our day at AoA, catch an early bus to the MK, take the monorail to the Poly for breakfast at Ohana, and then catch the monorail to Epcot...will the entire morning be eaten up in travel?

What time is the ADR? I wouldn't say the entire morning but definitely a chunk of it. Let's say a 10 minute bus wait to MK, 20 min bus ride, walk to monorail and ride to Poly another 15ish minutes. 60-90 min for breakfast. Another monorail ride to TTC (or you can walk...prob quicker) and 15-20 monorail to Epcot. Obviously, these are all estimates. I would say you would get to Epcot around 2 hours after your ADR, maybe a bit more.

I would count about 2 hours from the time of the ADR to your arrival time at Epcot. It's all about how important it is to you to be at rope drop, how crowded the parks will be that day and how much you will enjoy that particular meal. My sisters family, all adults now, love it and do it every trip. My family members are not stitch fans and would much rather be at Epcot at rope drop and do the Garden Grill meal at Epcot, much later in the day when crowds are much higher than first thing in the day.

Well we've never been at all, so we don't know our favorites yet. RD is doable on our other Epcot day, and I think this would be our only chance to catch the monorail, which is on my bucket list.

I haven't made an ADR yet , I was trying to decide if it was worthwhile.

How long is your trip?

If it's a 4 day, 1 park/day trip, I'd say it's not worth it. If it's a week long trip and you're going to go at a leisurely pace, then go for it.

BUT - I've heard monorail hours are changing and I know they can be unreliable, so take that into consideration. Can you boat to Poly from MK at that time of day? (I'd be more concerned with getting TO breakfast than getting anywhere AFTER breakfast because worst case scenario you take a bus to Epcot).

It's an 8 night trip with 8 park hopper tickets, with a wake up and fly on the 9th day. I know it may be silly , but the monorail is on my bucket list.

I would say that since you will be able to rope drop Epcot another day it will be fine. Yes, you will spend a lot of that morning on your ADR. Which might be fine for you, World Showcase doesn't open until 11am so before that it is just FutureWorld which is great in it's own right but I'd say 2 days in Epcot is enough time to see everything. We did all of Epcot in a day and a half and then swam the afternoon of our 2nd day until we had our ADR at Le Cellier. We didn't do *everything* but I'm happy with what we did do.
