Round 9 Pen Pal Letter/Twist-Feb.

:sad2: You know the expression " When life hands you lemons, make lemonade."? Well, my kitchen is full of lemons, and I am fresh out of sugar!

Sorry for the late check in -Drama abounds this week, along with depression, teenage angst, parental anger , stress and stress and ......you name it---it has knocked on my door this week.

On a bright note: My letters/twists got dropped off at the Post office this evening....

Now, I am locking myself in my personal space with my blender and lots of "adult" beverages.....:lmao: I will resurface this weekend.

:cutie: Checking in for the week.

My letters that were mailed last Thursday will have to be resent tomorrow morning. I have a good friend who works in the local post office. Well, she called me yesterday afternoon to let me know that I had some "damaged" mail at the counter and that I should come pick it up. ??:confused3 Get down there and discover that my letters, along with numerous other mail was jammed in a sorting machine on Friday morning. Many envelopes were able to be sent on there merry way, but many were damaged to the point that they were undeliverable. I asked why it took so long to notify me and the response was "Unfortunately dealing with damaged mail takes time and that most people aren't even contacted". Go figure. I guess that I am lucky that I have a friend that works there and knows my phone number.
So, I am going to try this again, but it will go out in mailla padded envelopes this time with a request to "hand sort".

:goodvibes And thank you to everyone for the good thoughts last week. After a full day of Scrapbooking, I certainly felt better!

Received my letter and twist from Maria today! Thanks for the lotion Maria. I need it so badly these days. My hands and skin are so dry! I really dislike winter for that reason.

:)I received my letter/twist from Cindy today.. Ahh, the smell of Garlic--my twist will be well used this weekend in some chili. Thank you!

My letters to Cindy and Patsy are once again on their way --this time with delivery confirmation! And they were hand sorted...no mean machines this time.

Hope everyone has a good and fulfilling weekend!

Glad to hear of the arrivals. Hoping to hear of more arrivals at the starting of next week.

I am ready to announce the March twist or topic soon ;)

And question for all pen pals..... do you celebrate Easter? In a religious, and/or fun way?

No, not really. We've gotten away from it all since the girls have gotten older. Though YDD and I do still love to go the aisles in the stores to look and sometimes pick up a treat. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes Checking in for the week....

Easter...All the kids are much older now, so we typically only do a sit-down family dinner. Used to be it would be church in the morning, then the egg hunt and then a large dinner. Since we moved from hubby's home state of WV, we stopped.

However, when it comes to decorating for the holiday--I am all over that! :thumbsup2 My 5 large containers come out of storage and get to see the light of day again. I have left my Christmas tree up and it has become our holiday tree...Right now it is decorated for Mardi Gras! Can't wait for it to become the Easter Tree!

Now, about that twist.....

I don't really celebrate Easter. It usually comes near the end of tax season and I'm too exhausted to notice and never seem to make the trip to Fresno where family lives.

I received my letter from Patricia yesterday. Thanks for the double sided sticky tape---I am collecting scrapbooking supplies to do when I retire:rotfl2: Hopefully, when I retire, I will get around to doing it:thumbsup2 Only 2 yrs and 9 months:dance3: Thanks for the drink mixes too.

Cindy
