Hi there

I am a Disney newbie and trying not to make a glaring mistake!

I am going to Disney World April 28 - May 3 for The Summit Cheer Competition. We had to purchase our tickets with Varsity Cheer through the process of registering for the competiion. Varsity emailed me my ticket order number/registration number so that I could secure park reservations. However, I do not have my physical ticket card. I have to pick up the ticket cards at Varsity check-in once I arrive in Orlando. Our flight gets in too late Wednesday night to get our ticket cards, so our plan is to go to ESPN Varsity check-in Thursday morning (about 8am) and pick up our ticket cards. Then we have to link the ticket card to the reservations in the app.

Here's my reservations:
Thursday: I reserved HS since it opens the latest (10 am) thinking that would give us more time to get our cards and get to the park.
Friday/Saturday: Competition (No parks, visit Disney Springs)
Sunday: Rope Drop AK and hop to Epcot
Monday: MK

My dilemma:
Now I am wondering if I will be able to try for that BG at 7:00 since I haven't fully linked my ticket to my reservation. Maybe we should try to switch our AK day to Thursday even if that means miss getting there at opening and do HS on Sunday so I can try for a BG at 7:00am. Even though becuase we want to park hop on Sunday and Rope Drop we didn't want to put that on Thursday where we also have to fiddle with the ESPN stop.

With that said, if I can get the BG with the reservation only and not the linked ticket card that would be best.
Sorry so long but I am trying to explain it and really don't know what I am talking about! 😂

Thank you for any advice from the experts!

If you were able to make a park reservation, that means your ticket is linked to you in MDE. So you’ll be able to try for a BG at 7 because the system will see you have a ticket and a DHS reservation for that day. You don’t need the card itself to try for a BG.

Heads up, we are there the same time period, 26- may 2. I wanted to change our HS day because I stupidly booked it on a Saturday 🤦🏻‍♀️ But found out there’s no other availability so don’t cancel the day you have reserved! Luckily I thought to look before I canceled the one I had.

Thank you so much! I probably would have done that! I keep thinking maybe I want to switch days for this reason or another, you kow just over thinking it. 😂 Now I defintely won't! Have a great trip!!
