Travelling Eurostar Ashford to DLRP
Staying 20th - 23rd January at Sequoia Lodge all in one room!

We got up at around 6.00am and had a light breakfast. By 7.00am we were on our way by car to Ashford. Miraculously the M25 wa clear and we arrived before 9.00am. We parked on floor 5 - the floor with access to the Eurostar Terminal and checked in. DH decided to go and have a cigarette but there were no smoking areas that we could see. DH asked at the Information desk and the guy on there told him that the whole Terminal is a no smoking area and officially he was not allowed to smoke until he got off the train at DLRP. Unofficially he told DH that when we were called down to the platform he would be able to have a quick cigarette before boarding the train. If you smoke make sure you have one before you check in!
Eurostar left on time and the journey was smooth and uneventful. We brought food with us for lunch so we didn't use the buffet car but we did the on board check in which took about three minutes. The CM gave us luggage labels, park maps and tickets and wished us a pleasant stay!
Although it was raining in the UK and in Calais as we approached Paris the weather brightenend and there was sunshine as well as cloud.
We arrived at 1.35pm and left our luggage with the Disney Express service. They were very efficient and in no time at all we were standing between the Park entrances and Disney Village! We paused to enjoy the moment and take in the fact that we were really there. We all felt excited and pleased that our journey had gone so well!

There at last!
We almost ran through the entrance to the Disneyland Park and headed for BTM. It was a walk on and we all really enjoyed it. Then we went on Phantom Manor which also had no wait and was better than we remembered it and also much better than the Haunted Mansion in WDW. We strolled through to Adventureland, taking our time and feeling like we owned the Park! Pirates of the Caribbean was a walk on and we really got into the atmosphere, pointing out our favourite bits and joining in with the singing - YoHo Yo Ho!
DH is a Star Wars fan so we headed for Star Tours next. A five minute wait was posted which we thought would be ok. Half an hour later we finally got onto the ride and although we were all a bit fed up at the unexpected wait, we still all enjoyed it! DS and DD were hungry and thirsty so we went to Casey's Corner to grab a snack. I thought we might hop outside afterwards to watch the parade, as it was about 3.30 by now, but it started to rain. We decided to relax at Casey's for a while and DD DS and DH had a hot dog and a coke and I had a coffee and a doughnut - for research purposes of course ;) ! It cost about twenty one Euros and everyone thought it was good.
As it was still raining when we left Casey's we decided to head to the Hotel and check in.

I knew that Sequoia Lodge was big but I wasn't prepared for how big. Check in took about thirty minutes due to a long queue and seemed a little disorganised. I asked for a room in the main lodge, and initially was told there weren't any left, but then one became available. We got 5242 - a Montana Room without much of a view. I was pleased that we got the free upgrade though - something I learned about onthis board.:goodvibes we were allocated odd Breakfast times and I knew we wouldn't be able to stick to them as they were all too early, but when you have that big a place to run you must try to organise it I guess!
Our room was very clean and comfortable and very very warm. We had a good look around the Hotel and headed back to the Disneyland Park about 6.00pm. We went to Honey I shrunk the Audience, Orbitron, IASW, Pinochio, Peter Pan's flight and then twice on BTM in the dark!
We headed for Annette's Diner and joined a queue. About 8.30 we were seated downstairs in the centre of the Restaurant. We shared an order of onion rings while we waited for our main courses. DH and I had a RnR burger with fries and a beer and DD and DS had kids mini urgers with fries and coke. DH and I then had Brownies with chocolate sauce cream and ice cream and DS and DD had Disney ice creams.

Mmm Brownies!
The bill was about seventy five euros including the tip. During our meal the CM's did a couple of songs from Grease and everyone got into the spirit of it clapping and joining in - it was good fun. We left Annettes at about 10.00pm and browsed the Disney Village shops as we walked back to SL. I suppose it was about midnight by the time we put the lights out but I was awake long after that as I was so excited to be back in DLRP at last!

Coming next.... The Studios!

But of course, you have a tag to live up to :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great day Rosie. I can't believe you were there just the day after me - we also ate at Annettes, and we visited Sequoia Lodge too!

hmm that food looks good - must give Annettes a try:) Check-in is probably the worst bit isn't it - who likes to stand in a queue!
Would love to see a pic of your hotel room (just for noseyness purposes!!)
Loook forward to reading part II

Hey Quack!

DS did ask where the Kitchen and Lounge were - we usually stay in self catering when were away! I've got some of the bathroom as well so I'll sort those out and maybe tag them on to day three.:goodvibes
