I am planning on ordering freeze-dried rose petals from an online site and need some help figuring out how much to buy. We need them to be sprinkled down the sides of the aisle runner (lightly), for our two flower girls to toss as they walk down the aisle, and for our staged exit, and we have about 50 guests. The website I am getting them from sells them in cups. Any help on how many cups I should get?

For the aisle, check out the coverage map here:

http://www.flyboynaturals.com/suqu.html

It will show you what various amounts of petals look like in one square foot. The aisle in the Wedding Pavilion is 54 feet from the doorway to the bottom step of the altar, but you won't want petals all that way, probably, so figure on maybe 30 or 40 feet x 2 sides of the aisle x the number of cups required for the coverage you want.

The same site says 4–6 cups of petals for each flower girl, 1/2 cup per guest if petals will be in bags, or 1 cup per guest if they'll be in a big basket. I think you can get away with less than that for the big basket, though...

Thanks for this post! I'm currently trying to figure out my petal situation as well... does anyone have photos of the petals from flyboynaturals???
