Has anyone eaten there? I have an ADR for the CP on 12/24. I wanted Le Cellier, but no such luck.

Can anyone tell me anything good (hopefully, not bad) about that restaurant?

Also, what do you think is their best dish?

we've never cared for R@C food seems to be rushed and is served luke warm at times, we've given it a few tries to get seats for illumination but that perk does not go over when the food is not very good.

I loved it, my DW liked it. I would do it again.

I ate there for the first time recently and loved it with one exception. I got the lamb which was way too red for me. I should've sent it back but, in my effort to try new things, I gave it the ol' college try. I loved the "cooked" parts but learned my lesson for next time. I definitely recommend the cheese tray and would go back again.

Rose and Crown was the one place I wasn't too thrilled about at first when we went in December. It was a friend's pick. It turned out to be one of the best places of our whole trip! I got the steak & fish and it was wonderful! I normally hate fish and I ate the whole thing! The steak was fabulous too! I will definitely be back.

Oh, and the potato leek soup was awesome also :)

Back when all multiday tix were parkhoppers, I hopped only once and that was to eat at R&C. Love the shepherd's pie and fish and chips. Also at lunch the soup and sandwich was great. Then there's the Guinness...

MMM, potato & leek soup. If it's anything like my mom's I'm there!!:thumbsup2

The food at Rose and Crown is probably some of the worst in the world showcase. If you want food similar to that, eat at Raglan Road in DTD.

We eat at Rose and Crown every time we go to Disney!! Love the cheese platter, fish and chips are great, shepards pie is good!! And like a PP said - there's always the Guinness!!!

We, a party of 6 ate there and got to be outside during illuminations. That was worth the food not being the greatest. It was fine but I can't remember it being bad or great. The main thing is the selection is small so I think most of us had fish & chips. Be sure to go to the section under dining and look at the menu. We wont go there this year because I hear Le Cellier was really good so we are going to try that. But you can't beat the front row seat for illuminations if you are lucky enough to sit outside.

Good luck:cool1:

Is Illuminations ALWAYS at 9p? If so, what is the very best time to make an ADR for R&C to get an outside seat for Illuminations?

I just made and ADR for here. now I'm worried we won't like it. Maybe we should try Germany or Italy instead. Is it easy to get a seat outside for Iiluminations??

We ate there for the first time last December as part of the Candlelight Procession dinner package. Like the OP, I had wanted ressies somewhere else, but Rose and Crown was all I coult get for our party size at the seating time we wanted. We were very happy with it! It was such a suprise to us, but we really enoyed it. Our server was wonderful and we did not feel rushed. We were on the DDP at the time so we all ordered lots of different things and we all tried a little of everything. It was so long ago, I cannot remember off the top of my head what we had...all I can remember is that my picky 5 y/o DS LOVED the Sheppard's Pie.
My vote is to keep your ressie and go with an open mind....you never know, you may be pleasantly surprised!:wizard:

We took a chance on Rose and Crown and loved it. The potato leek soup was delicious. We asked for the recipe and have made it many times. We get the chicken dishes and the are yummy. I would give it a try and I hope you like it.

7:30 is the best time to be seated to be able to watch illuminations.

The steak and fish entree is absolutely wonderful!!! There is also a mushroom appetizer that my husband got that was delicious! I only got a taste of his, but he devoured it and he is not always easy to please.

I second the steak and fish, it was our favorite meal at disney!

DH and I have eaten at R & C on our last three trips. We enjoy it. I love the roasted mushroom appetizer. DH loved the lamb.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It was the worst meal of our last trip. Overcooked tough fish and soggy chips. Service was so-so. It's the only restaurant DH has specifically asked not to visit on our next trip. The Illuminations view wasn't even that good. We loved Biergarten. Good food and fun & festive atmosphere. Germany is usually a good place to get an Illuminations spot.
