No, the complaint is making an ADR 5 months in advance for a special birthday and Rose & Crown used the opportunity of extra people to provide the worst table. I am sure no one who has replied as ever gone to a restaurant and was seated at a table next to kitchen or away from the TV for the big game, etc.
and did not ask to be moved to a better location. I bet everyone has and in 99% of those requests you were treated respectfully and courteously even if there were no options. Again, it is all about the delivery of the message which is Disney's specialty.
Just
OK, here are my questions:
1. You knew at the start of your trip that you would be adding 2 people to every one of your ADRS. Why didn't you contact dining and change all your ADRs at that point? You started as a party of 12. You knew on day 1 that you would become a party of 14 for the week. Why didn't you do the obvious thing and change your ADRs at that point as opposed to repeatedly showing up with more people than they were prepared to accomodate?
2. Why on earth did you make an ADR at a restaurant with outside seating if sitting in the sun would make both you and your wife so uncomfortable that you would be unable to eat? If the issue is that serious, why on earth did you not choose from among the many restaurants that offer only indoor seating?
3. If you were that uncomfortable, unable to eat, why didn't you ask some other member of your party to switch seats with you? I for one have absolutely no issue with sitting in the sun. Judging from the number of people I see sitting doing the same in WDW, it appears that most people don't. Why couldn't two of the other 12 people in your party switch seats with you and your wife?
4. You "called their bluff??" They went out of their way to accommodate you and you "called their bluff?" Wow.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully the OP will realize in the future that with a large party like 10 or more it's best to call group dining reservations and if they can't help call the restaurant directly and speak to the manager. That should have been done as SOON as he knew he needed a table for 14 instead of 12. We have done this in the past when it's a large group. Just my guess but the OP not being able to order an entree sounds like it was more due to being angry than anything which is a shame. All could have been avoided with better communication in ADVANCE. Not 30 minutes ahead of reservation time. Even with no changes they ask you to arrive 15 minutes in advance for a dining reservation.
