Trying to decide whether to bother with this.

From what I've read here you want a PS at sbout 8 and request a patio table.

How likely is it that we will be able to get a table with a view of illuminations? How good is the view? How hard is it to time things so you get a table at the right time? If your table does not have a good view is there a place to get up and get a better view w/o obstructing others? If you are eating in the pub is there a place where you can watch illuminations?

We just got back and had a 7:30 ressie and stayed forIlluminations. Got the lower(?) patio far right. Perfect close unobtructed view. Might have helped that it was freezing thatnight and maybe not so many wantedthe outside. I would make your ressie for earlier than 8. Most people would linger. We ate inside before and watched from a little spot on thepatio but I do not know if it was because of DD;'s b-day or not. Best view of Illuminations next to the cruise we took 2 nights before. Good luck!

We had a lower terrace table at R&C in December. A friend did all the legwork and I have to say....it was very worth it. I felt like I was at a private viewing of Illuminations. And my dinner was quite good! All in all....a great experience and one I'd like to repeat someday.

Unfortunately, you cannot request a patio table and on most nights, you can't offer to "wait" for one to become available. This has become an extremely popular option for viewing Illuminations. I've seen people seated as early as 7pm and linger for 2 hours and I've seen people come in at 8:30 and get lower level. It's really the luck of the draw. Not all patio tables are created equal. There are quite a few that are tucked back under the awning and you won't see any of the overhead fireworks. As others have mentioned though, if you do score one of these premium tables, it will give you the most incredible view of Illuminations. For us, it was a close tie between that and the Illuminations cruise view. If you do end up inside, you are usually allowed to stand outside on the patio to view it.

Good Luck,
Tammi

We ate here as part of the Candlelight Illumination package and had a ps for 8:00. We were seated inside, but after our meal our CM led us to the VIP section of the deck where we enjoyed the most wonderful view of the show. The deck was small and we were squeezed in but we didn't care....

You can read the long post I just wrote. But for what it is worth I would just grab something and eat at the patio area to the left of R&C. That was near empty tonight and we would have been MUCH better off there than IN the R&C.
