Rose and Crown Q

Hello! I made 7pm reservations for Rose and Crown Pub on 11/1/11, think this is too early to try & snag a spot to watch Illuminations? Any tips?

I agree, too early. That's 2 hours before Illuminations.

That's a tough time because it's probably too early to have a reasonable paced meal, but not quite enough time to get out and find a place at the railing to see Illuminations (though Illuminations can be seen from many locations and you can still have a good view even if you're not right at the railing). Most estimates say that a TS meals takes about 90 minutes, so you should try to aim for a 7:30-8 pm ADR OR try for an earlier ADR so you can finish your meal and find a place around the lagoon.

October 2011 we had an ADR for 7:00 pm but we were never sat until 7:30 pm. We were sat inside and finished our meal around 8:45 and were given the oppertunity to watch Illuminations from the special Rose & Crown section. It worked out just fine for us.

To early - I would move to later if possible to see the show there or earlier to find a place on the lagoon to watch.
When we were there last year this very large party who had eaten when we were seated, was continuing to sit. The server asked if there was something else that was need, they said no just waiting for the fire works. It was 8:00.
I understand wanting a good seat, but not a the expense of someone else. I'm sure that there were other families waiting for the seating, and of course the server who could not move tables, being a past server it is important to move your table. When I worked the number of tables you waited on in a night was kept, If you did not fall into the average of the company wanted you to wait on you could be written up either way. I'm sure that with a volume as high as the restaurants at Disney this is something that they do take a look at.
