this is my first trip to WDW and my head hurts from so much information. but basically here is my questions:

1. What exactly happens at rope drop at MK that makes it so much fun to be there so early in the AM
2. We are staying at All Star Sports, what time should we be on the bus to b at the park for rope drop?
3. What happens when there are AM extra magic hours, is rope drop still the same?

sorry for so many questions

1. Lots of characters, singers and dancers in a "Welcome" show.
But, the "show" is not the main reason some guests go that early.
The park will be much less busy in the first hour or two after opening.
Lines for rides will generally be much shorter for many attractions than they will be
later in the morning.

2. Be at the bus stop about 60 minutes before the scheduled park opening time.

3. The Rope Drop show will be performed only for the AM EMH guests (and NOT again an hour later.)

thank you for your quick response..now off to check the october calendar for park hours

1. Rope drop at MK is a little show, some of the characters, some dancers, and the mayor/fire chief will help you open the park with a cute little song & dance before the park is officially open.
It's a cute show, I have a love for it, and love to see it at least once a trip. Otherwise the bonus to being at the park that early is that you have the advantage of being there early and being able to walk onto way more rides than normal. I have done rope drop most days, and having done the 10am to noon arrival, the crowds are way heavier and lines are longer and not so fun to be in.

2.If the park opens at 9am, the show will be around 8:40 am. I usually aim to be ON the bus by 8:00am in that case.

3. EMH mornings the show is the same, there are usually a few less characters than a normal day but aside from that it's fine
