Rope Drop Remy?

What is the best way to rope drop Remy for EE? We do not ride Guardians, so Remy seems to be the better choice. We are coming through the front gate, not IG. Is this just as simple as coming in, going right at WS and following the crowd or is there some "special tip" on this one?

Also - will I need motion sickness meds for Remy?

If there's a way you can enter through the International Gateway, you're much closer at actual rope drop and may not have as much foot traffic coming toward you - people who enter through IG tend to go right if they want Remy, and left if they want Frozen (shorter walk to Norway).

When I rope-dropped for Frozen by entering through IG, they let us through to the edge of Canada and held us there. That gave folks for Remy a lot more space to 'fill in' close to IG. At rope drop, a good sized crowd started moving from Canada through the front of WS toward Norway. If you enter at Main Gate up to WS and go right, you'll be against that traffic headed to Norway.

It's certainly doable, but be prepared for walking 'upstream' for a time until you get around to France.

As for motion sickness meds, I didn't think it was needed but if you have any suspicion at all about it, I would come prepared so as to not wreck your morning by feeling bad after riding.

IMO.....the best way to rope drop Remy is from the IG. My DD22 and I do this, and it works great. We go to HS, get on the Skyliner and then enter Epcot that way - it's what my DD22 and I do every trip regardless if we want to rope drop Remy or not. I really love doing this during F&G when we can get good pictures of the topiaries before the crowd comes into the WS.

I agree with everyone rope dropping Remy should really be done from IG. The walk is not short from the normal entrance. If you have any plans to go on Frozen I would Rope Drop that since Remy's line seems to always be shorter than Frozen. Both of them have had shorter lines lately due to Test Track reopening, but still not short.

Definitely enter through IG if possible. The trek from the front all the way back to France is so much farther than most people realize and you’ll be at a disadvantage. As far as motion sickness, I often have issues on rides and Remy does not bother me.

You have been given good advice on the location, but my dd has issue with motion sickness on this one. I wear a patch and mostly do ok, but it can cause issues for some people.

If you want to use the IG for EE, coming by car, your option would be to drive and park at DHS and either 1) walk the mile (or a little more); 2) take the boat (stops at Swan & Dolphin, then at Yacht & Beach, then at BW, finally Epcot, takes 30-35 minutes); 3) ride the Skyliner DHS to CBR, then join the crowds riding the Skyliner to Epcot, takes 25-35 minutes depending on transfer time at CBR.

Adding: I was confusing you with someone else. If driving, see above; same if you bus to DHS. Alternatives are Minnie Van to Beach Club and walk from there, or rideshare to the Dolphin and walk or boat from there. (Rideshare probably won’t be allowed into Beach Club or Yacht or Boardwalk if you don’t have a reservation there.)

If you want an alternate strategy, Remy has a daily lull in the standby line during the late morning. The wait increases quickly when the park opens, drops noticeably just before noon the rises again in the afternoon through the rest of the day.

In late July, we had LLMP for 4 pm, but found a 25 minute posted wait just before noon. We went ahead and hopped in line and the actual wait was just over 10 minutes.

We were able to then roll the lightening lane over to Tiana’s for about the same time.

How do you make that work, timing-wise? We are coming from AKV.

DHS opens at 8:30 with EE, so if the bus starts running 45 minutes before, we could only catch the bus at 7:45.
15 - 20 minute bus ride would put us at DHS around 8ish. Then 20-30 minutes on the skyliner, plus walking time to get to each location....puts us getting at IG after EE opening.

Oh yeah, I agree. I have made that walk many times over the past 25 years. It is certainly a small hike! I do not believe I have ever done it to get to an attraction...it was always a leisurely walk. This may feel like a marathon in comparison.

In year's past, we would do Princess Storybook breakfast and that was a hike as well.

Actually, the bus starts running an hour before posted EE opening time, and if you’re at the bus stop 90 minutes before opening (7:00 for an 8:30 opening) you should be on the first bus to DHS. You’ll still have to walk, boat, or Skyliner to Epcot, but that’s about the best you can do without Minnie Van to BC or rideshare to Dolphin.

We drive everywhere - we never use the buses. We get to HS parking lot early and then walk to the Skyliner station.
