Roozlilone PJ/TR Saying "I Do" Again 7/17/08...Processional & Vows!

Great shirts, great shoes, you are just moving along! Can't wait for another update.

Happy Thursday!

Well, I need some help from everyone! I'm in a resort quandary....:headache: We have made ressies at the Port Orleans FQ for our VR. But I'm having 2nd thoughts....to give you some background, I'm very familiar with all of the resorts, having the pleasure of going 4+ times each year, I've gotten around to all of the resorts except the VILLAS so I know my likes and dislikes. I don't know anything about the villas. For a normal summer trip, I wouldn't hesitate staying at the FQ, I love the FQ. But I'm rethinking my resort choice because of our VR! I didn't realize HOW MUCH STUFF I have to bring. And how much room I'll probably need for my dress, the girls dresses, tux, makeup artist, welcome bags etc. etc. etc. It seems like alot of brides on the board stay at a Home-away-from-home villas. I want to be comfortable! I want some room! What do you think? I like to hear some opinions from experienced brides and ones that are getting ready to go. Where did/are you stay? I'm reaching the 3 1/2 month mark and rooms are starting to fill up!

I highly recommend the extra room of the villas :lovestruc Having been a DVCer for almost four years, we are positively spoiled by the room, especially the bigger units! Depending on how many will stay with you, I would try to get at least a one or two bedroom.

I agree with Lisa. I really think you'll want the extra room provided by the villa. If you can do a 1BR, you will be so glad to have the closet space in the MBR. (Oh, and the jacuzzi tub should be mandatorily available to brides for pre-ceremony pampering! :bride: )

I stayed at the WL. The day of the wedding there was myself, MOH, and MOB getting ready in the room. We also had the lady from Carolyn Allens and Lisa from makeover Magic in the room. It wasn't crowded by no means, but I think maybe just one other person could have fit in there comfortably.

That's what I've been thinking! I really want to get a 1BR villa. I just don't know where. Would LOVE a jacuzzi!

Well, I've been thinking about the cake I want..... I emailed my Wedding Coordinator and she said we can upgrade to just about anything we want. We just need to give her a photo and she would work with the bakery. :cool1: Joe had his heart  set on the white chocolate castle topper, but after finding out it costs $100 extra :scared1:, I think we will pass on the castle topper.

I found the cake I want, it will obviously be smaller, but I'm just wondering if the Disney bakers can pull it off and will it look as good with less layers.

My Dream Cake:

I just love the details:

Do you think Disney can do it? And, gosh, for what price? :goodvibes

Oooh :lovestruc That cake is gorgeous! I love it! You should definitely find out if the bakery can replicate it. They were able to make Carrie's (Lurkyloo) cake almost identical to the picture she brought. It came out beautiful, but I think Carrie mentioned that the color of the cake was kind of off. So if there is a particular color you want your cake, make sure you let them know.

How much extra do you think it would be? Just curious. Am I going to have to give them my first born to help pay for it? :lmao:

That is very pretty and the detail is beautiful! WOW! will look forward to hearing about the details, but I am sure disney can do it!

I am going to take a wild guess that if it is for three layers that it will cost $600.00. Of course, I really have no idea but hey, why not guess :dance3:

Speaking of 1br villas, Beach club and Boardwalk enable you to walk into EPCOT anytime for a meal during your trip. Old Key West has the biggest space and is our personal favorite. Rick and I will have a grand villa there for our vow renewal in May =) Wilderness Lodge is just a boat ride away from the MK and Contemporary. Saratoga springs is a mere boat ride from Downtown Disney so they all have nice pros :teacher: AKL villas may be too new to get into. Of course, you will save substantially if you rent points from a DVCer. I'm borrowed into next year putting up my whole family on my points :sad2: But, it will be worth the joy of it all :goodvibes

Hi! My two cents...

BaBeeCee14 hit the nail on the head: I think you'll have no problem getting that design replicated by the bakery. The color is a different story, but if you submitted swatches (maybe paint chips from the hardware store even?) you'll have a better chance. As for cost, I had them make a 3-layer version of a 4-layer design and it was $725. I have no idea how they figure that out, though!

Villas: We stayed at Beach Club Villas for the first week (including the night before the wedding for just me) and Animal Kingdom Villas the second week. AKV's studio was cool looking but small cuz it's a converted hotel room.

Our BCV studio was GREAT! I was able to lay out all my wedding crap the night before and have plenty of room for hair, makeup and dress steaming (mind you it was just me, the makeup artist and the 2 people from Carolyn Allens in there - no bridesmaids, etc.). And walking to Epcot was the highlight of our stay. Well, that and seeing MK fireworks from our balcony!

Anyway, I highly recommend staying at the Villas, especially if you can rent points like we did. It was cheaper than staying at POFQ! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl: Maybe I should go to Sherwin Williams! :rotfl: :rotfl: I know you had a lot of trouble with your colors, I was actually thinking of that when I found this cake. Your cake was GORGEOUS though! I loved its whimsical design.

I was leaning toward BCV, the closer to Epcot the better! We have stayed at the Beach Club several times for that reason. I just think a villa would be better for us this time around. I would love to have a washer/dryer & of course the jacuzzi.

Well, I guess my dream cake will remain, well, just a dream! Got an email from my Wedding Coordinator yesterday. The additional cost to me would be$500! I got a $200 credit for the escape cake, so the cake would cost around $700 total. I was hoping for no more than $300 extra since it was only going to be a 2 tier cake. :headache: Oh, well, I guess I will have to stick to a more traditional Disney cake, I just wanted something a little unique, but it's just out of my budget! Back to the drawing board.....:goodvibes

That cake is gorgeous! But an extra $500, holy moly! Can they do something simpler, but still similar for less?

Maybe they priced out a significantly larger bottom layer than you need? Also, do you suppose all the gold on the cake was a pricey extra? Based on Carrie's estimate, she was right on...

I am soooooo.....excited to be starting a PJ for our 15th wedding anniversary vow renewal on July 17, 2008. I've read so many journals that have been heartwarming, touching and some down right funny and FULL of GREAT information, I just had to start one myself. I hope I can help someone planning for their VR/Wedding as so many of you have helped me! So here it goes!

[

Hey! Another Mobilian here, just wanted to say hi & that I love your TR so far & I'm so excited for your VR. Everything looks great so far & the story of your re-engagement was great.

I can't wait to finish reading all about your wedding plans.

I just wanted to share the illuminations dessert menus with everyone. We just received these from our wedding coordinator, which are different from the ones I had orginially had, not sure how long they have been out. Looks like the minimum prices have gone from $19.50 pp to $22 pp. I like the new choices, but not the new prices! :sad2:
