Roozlilone PJ/TR Saying "I Do" Again 7/17/08...Processional & Vows!

Hey! Another Mobilian here, just wanted to say hi & that I love your TR so far & I'm so excited for your VR. Everything looks great so far & the story of your re-engagement was great.

I can't wait to finish reading all about your wedding plans.

I definitely should not have read this right before lunch...i'm starving!

Thanks! Small World...isn't it great to be only 8 hours from Disney! :goodvibes

Well, I have finally accepted my cake reality. The beautiful Colette Cake I found online just wasn't meant to be. And Joe didn't even want it  He acted like he LOVED IT! But he really had his heart set on a DISNEY CAKE! I love Disney (obviously), but I wanted something different and unique. He just wants Disney. I was just surprised he cared one way or another. I guess I should be impressed with his interest in wedding cakes! :lmao:

Soooo.....we went for something more simple...I let Joe pick....and Amy, my wedding coordinator, said it would only cost $25 more, so that's great!

So here it is, except it will have 2 layers and it will be round, not square!

Now...my next project...welcome bags! :headache:

Only $25 upgrade charge? They told me $125!

For the same cake??

This is the email I received from my wedding coordinator on Monday:

I just wanted to let you know it will be an upgrade of $25.00 for that cake.

The cake will be two-tier round, with fondant and gum paste flowers.

Sound good? Let me know if you would like this cake.

I hope it's not a typo!! :scared1:

I'm not even having the flowers. 2 tier Mickey's delight round with silver mickeys instead of gold and no ribbon. :confused3

We are having them make the fondant purple. I suppose at Disney there could be a $100 charge for food coloring. You never know!

Well, that's just crazy!!! Are you having a wishes or escape wedding? I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. But I was given a $200 credit for the standard escape cake.

Boy, I'm holding on to my email as proof of the $25 upgrade. Geez...I'm convinced it's depends on your wedding coordinator. What does everyone else think? :confused3

I'm an escape bride too. I know that the planners get a price for the cake, and they have to subtract the standard cake price, so it could be your planner did the math wrong somehow? I'd keep the email too!! I think the $125 is right since we asked about another cake and we were quoted $100. I think you got a steal! :thumbsup2

very nice cake selection:goodvibes keep us updated on upgrade $ the gold will go so nice with your colors/gown. :thumbsup2

I definitely will, gosh, I kinda feel like an idiot that I didn't question the $25. It did seem cheap, but I just went with it. Hey girls I need some pixie dust! Please let it be just $25, although I'll still pay $125 if I have too :wizard:

pixiedust: lots of pixie dust for YOU! It really sounds like it does come down to who you talk too.....
all your plans look wonderful! You must be getting excited!!!

I'm so excited we're finally under the 4 month mark for our vow renwal! :cool1: :cool1:

I'm trying to work on my list of to-do's and one of things I've been searching high and low for is a gift for Kaitlyn and Hannah! We will present it to them during our ring exchange. Rev. Jack is going to work it into the ceremony... after we exchange rings, we are going to give them something, a ring, necklace, something?? Not sure? :confused3

I want something that will make a good keepsake as they get older. Some type of Jewelry. But I've looked in local stores and on the internet and just can't find anything I like.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any good websites? Has anyone done this before in a VR? I would love some suggestions or past experience. I really want it to be special for them! :goodvibes

Have you considered a charm bracelet? That is something that you can do and they'd have forever, and you could add to it for special occasions.

Okay, I have two suggestions for you!

I don't know if you're a QVC shopper but they have beautiful Disney jewelry. Check out Item # J29612. It's a Diamonique (cubic zirconia) Cinderella slipper pendant. I'm thinking about getting these as Bridesmaid gifts. I like that it comes in such a pretty presentation box, too. They have a video of it posted on their website. :goodvibes They also have other jewelry like Tiara pendants and Mickey things.

Also, Arribas Bros has a Cinderella pendant, too. Not sure if this is what you had in mind, though.

QVC was a great idea, thanks! I'm not a QVC shopper, but I never shopped on Ebay prior to this PJ either and I bought my tiara and shoes from Ebay and now I'm hooked. QVC has a great selection of Disney jewelry...I never knew! :goodvibes

My parents have given my two sisters and me a Celtic pendant that represents the Three Sisters -- obviously, that doesn't work with just two daughters, but maybe there's a symbol out there that would work. (My family's not Celtic at all, they just liked the symbolism of it.) It's not Disney related, but I think it's pretty cool.

Less meaningful, but definitely appreciated, is the pearl jewelry sets we got from them -- I wear mine all the time now that I'm working in an office, so I think that's something they could really grow to love.

Other thoughts... a locket with a picture of the family inside? Does your family have any sort of "symbol" like a crest, or something that could be made into jewelry? Good luck figuring it out!

I love the charm bracelet idea because it's something you can add to over the years. I've seen Disney ones around but you could add anything you want to them. I also like the idea of getting one of those pressed pennies or quarters from Disneyworld - you could add these to a charm bracelet or just turn it into a necklace?

Thanks for all the replies, so many great ideas!! I think Joe & I have decided to give them a heart locket! I really like the Disney one QVC had...decision, decisions! :goodvibes

They will love it!:goodvibes I went to the site too and loved it . decided then I would get a locket like that for my DDs as well- borrowing another idea. :goodvibes

It just hit me! After deciding on doing the lockets for Kaitlyn and Hannah, I started searching websites and found this great site: www.picturesongold.com You pick the locket, upload the photo and they will place the photo in the locket for you and then you pick the wording and they will do the engraving! It's so cool. I picked a sterling silver locket and I'm going to upload a family pic of us at the WL and then on the left hand side I'm going to have the word "Ohana" engraved. I'll post a pic when they come in. Thanks again for all the great ideas, it really helped!! :goodvibes
