We are thinking of asking my mom to come with us for our 2013 trip, which would make our party six, including my mom (in her 60s but young at heart), me and my husband and our three kids (will be 9, 7 and 5). Our choices are as follows:

Family suite at music (cheapest option)
Family suite at AoA
Cabin at WL
Two rooms at CBR

Can someone explain the sleeping arrangements at the cabins and the family suites? I don't want my mom sleeping on a bunk or chair!

I've stayed in the Family Suites. And I did sleep on the couch fold out, but it was pretty darned comfortable. Disney had the specially designed, so they are not the old school, bars running under your back stabbing into you kind of fold outs.

There are only 2 sleeping spaces in the Family Suites, the bedroom with a queen sized bed, and the living room area. When I went with my sis and her family this is how we slept: Sis and her hubby in the bedroom. My nephew on the fold out chair. Me and my oldest niece on the couch fold out, and my youngest niece on the ottoman fold out.

The only way to get a real bed for your mom would be to get 2 rooms, or go for a DVC unit. If you do the 2 rooms, keep in mind they won't guarantee they will connect, or even be next door to each other. Typically they will be, but sometimes it doesn't work out that way.

Hope this helps!

The value family suites only have 1 "real" bed. AoA has one that pulls down from the wall and pull out couches. The cabins have 1 double bed, bunk beds and 1 murphy bed. I think your best bed would be 2 rooms at a mod or value.

Something you'll have to ask if you have a discount is if the family suites qualify. When I tried to book with a PIN, I was told the family suites at ASMu weren't available for the discount so I got 2 standard rooms instead discounted.

We stayed in the family suite in Dexember and my in laws took the real bed and we slept in the living area on the pullouts. They were horrible, nothing like the DVC pull outs. I took the couch with the twins and my DH took the chair. The ottoman was the worst of all, the chair was really bad, and the couch was tolerable. I would stay here again thought because I loved the convenience of the room.

That is kind of funny, because we thought the fold outs in the family suite were more comfortable than the ones in the Beach Club Villas. Maybe it depends on how new each fold out is when it is your turn to use it.

I have stayed in a cabin at FW and all the beds were comfortable. The bedroom had a double bed and a set of bunks. The living area had a double murphy bed. The cabins are very relaxing.

Two rooms at CBR would give you four beds and two bathrooms.

Have you looked into the DVC Villas?

I would go with two rooms at POFQ or POR as they now have queen beds. Also POFQ is smaller in size and has the boat to DTD. We have done this before a couple of times and we did receive adjoining rooms 1 time and connecting rooms the other Have a great trip:goodvibes

We stayed at the family suite at ASM and it was great. LIke previously mentioned, there is only one real bed but there was i think a queen pull out sofa bed that was soooo comfy! then there were somed fold out chairs which my sisters slept on and said they were so comfortable!

I would look into a two bedroom villa. You would have a bedroom with a king size bed and a bathroom attached (actually two part bathroom - one room with vanity/jacuzzi tub - other room has shower, toilet, sink. You would have a full kitchen for quick breakfasts, snacks, drinks. There is a w/d in the room (we usually throw a load of laundry in and head to a park and then throw it in the dryer when we go back for a swim). There is a full size sleeper in the living area. The second bedroom has a full size sleeper and a queen bed (OKW has two queens in the second bedroom) and a vanity area and bathroom. They are expensive renting through Disney unless there is a discount, but you can rent points from an owner. There is info on the DVC board and Dave's rentals. We love the villas and have been staying in them for over 10 years now.
