Hi everyone.

We are going to DLR in less than a week:yay: and we are staying at the PPH.
Do all there rooms have a view of DCA?
If not, do you think I can request a room facing the parks at the check in?
Do any of the rooms face DTD or anything else that would be more interesting to look at other than the concrete lake of DCA? haha

Thanks!

One side of the hotel faces DCA. On a lower floor you won't be able to see into DCA, though.

PPH is a bit of a walk away from DTD, and you would only be able to see the back of the AMC theater (with a bit of DLH maybe) IF there are rooms that even go that way, so I'm not sure there's anymore interesting views.

On our last trip, we got to be the "Big Kahuna" family of the day, and from our low AP rate room were upgraded to a suite, but the suite's view was barely of the pool (which is on the roof of the 3rd or 5th floor) and mainly of a parking lot. Woo, whatta view! :)

Even with the lake drained, I'd rather have the view of DCA.

You can ask them to give you the DCA view...we had one of those rooms, though we weren't supposed to, on our first stay.

Have fun! And be sure to go the shortcut way through GCH, and do NOT follow the signs in PPH to the parks... Leave the front of the building, go to the crosswalk, go into GCH. Walk in the lovely doors, walk in a bit, turn left and go down a corridor, go out the automatic doors, along the concrete path, and out halfway through DTD. If you follow the signs inside PPH you'll walk much longer, and go ALL the way through DTD.

You can always ask at check in but it is a paid upgrade so whether they will give it to you for free, who knows.

Very much agree with Bumber. :thumbsup2

Especially that the quickest way to DL is thru the GCH.

& the quickest way to DCA is thru the GCH.

& the quickest way to DTD is thru the GCH.

Know your route to the GCH & you'll be good. :hippie:

Just to expand on this a bit:

Always go through the GCH.....unless you want to go to the Downtown Disney monorail station (or anywhere on that end of Downtown Disney, like the Rainforest Cafe, ESPN, AMC theatre, ect). If you want to go to those places, then you'll want to walk out of the back entrance of the PPH and follow the sidewalk/walking path to Downtown Disney.

Thanks for expanding Super Mom :thumbsup2

If walking to the Disneyland Hotel or "that side of DTD" best to take the "back door" out of the Paradise Pier Hotel route.

But as Super Mom says....always go thru the GCH (which you get to by walking out the FRONT door of the PPH) if you want to walk to DL, DCA or the "bottom end" of DTD.

Thanks for your answers guys. You really know your stuff:flower3:

Glad to be part of helping.

I'll share my secret...when we first stayed at PPH, I thought the signs in the PPH *were* the super-secret way...though "wow, they have signs! those sillies on the Dis don't know what they're talking about". Walked our feet off and dealt with a 3 year old boy going by the Lego store with a serious case of "I want that'itis" every morning and evening.

Got back and saw more detailed posts about the way through the GCH, and felt like a prime idiot! How I didn't notice that crosswalk to the GCH I'll never know...though of course if you follow the signs inside PPH, you never go near the front entrance anyway, so I'm not even sure we SAW the crosswalk over there.
