Room Service Question

I'm sailing to Alaska on May 23rd, and we have some early port adventures. [~7:30am]. I was hoping to order room service to speed the getting ready process, but it looks like the room service breakfast menu is all empty carbohydrates. My husband and I are used to big breakfasts, usually with protein and veggies.

So my question is - when are the room serice lunch and dinner menu items available? Do you think they would allow me to place an order for hamburgers and salads to be delivered around 6am?

This is from DCL's web site:
Lunch and Dinner
Lunch and dinner options are available all day and night except during the morning hours when breakfast is served.

So I doubt you could get a burger BUT you should always ask.

You can always run up to Cabanas and grab a plate and bring it back down. We did that twice on our last cruise.

But not hamburgers and a salad, which is what it seems the OP wants for breakfast...

No, but they could get omelets, scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurt, etc at Cabanas if what they want is protein.

True. I was just going with what she mentioned since she didn't ask if there was any way to get eggs or something from room service but hamburgers and a salad. :)

Yeah, I'm an oddball! I really would *prefer* a hamburger and salad for breakfast.

But breakfast foods like omelettes are still good. I was thinking it'd take a while to get all the way to cabanas and get food and back, but ill give it a shot if room service doesn't want to give me my burger!

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! :)

Our whole family is the same way much prefer lunch items first thing in morning we hate waiting for lunch to be served at WDW but on the cruise the buffet satisfies. My daughter has pasta most mornings at home lol everyone thinks we're crazy but she starts her morning off with a boost and has straight As so it works lol

Not sure what time Cabanas opens each morning, but I doubt they would be very busy if opened at 6am. You should be able to grab something to take back to your room pretty easily. Enjoy your cruise, we went on an Alaska cruise 2 yrs ago and loved it.

We also had some early port adventures in Alaska. On days that the all ashore time is earlier, Cabanas will be open early to accommodate. You can look at some Navigators from last year on the Disney Cruise Line Blog to get an idea as to the breakfast hours. I remember not having any problems getting a full breakfast for our early port stops.

I just checked our Navigators and for example, for Skagway, all ashore was 7:15 and the buffet (then Beach Blanket, now Cabana's) opened at 6:30. Juneau was all ashore at 6:45 and the buffet opened at 6:30. So it looks like 6:30 is really the earliest that they open, but I would think if you have a 7:30 excursion, you should still be fine as long as you're fully dressed and ready to go and arrive at Cabana's at 6:30 when they open.

^thanks for checking!

Sounds like our best option is to get completely ready and then run up and eat quickly at cabanas before disembarking the ship.

I'm still going to ask room service about those hamburgers though. :)

One of us runs up to Cabanas from time to time to grab a couple of plates of food for breakfast and it doesnt take that long if you are plating food that is ready to go. Our DD likes cereal, so that is a carton of milk and cereal that has the bowl built in. Eggs, bacon, potato, fruit, etc on your plate..........grab a coffee and silverware and you can be back in the room in 10 min.

Room service or not, DCL or not, I would think hamburgers for breakfast are a hard find on any cruise line. As previously mentioned, Cabanas will have plenty of options for big breakfasts with protein and veggies.
