Room Requests

Hi, we are staying at the Poly next May, and I've spent some time on the Disney Resorts Forum, where alot of people seem to put in specific room requests.

We have booked through Virgin holidays, and was just wondering if anyone has had any experience of requesting a specific location in a disney hotel, where the room hasn't been booked directly with Disney??

If so, did you make your request through Virgin, or contact Disney??? And were your requests granted??

It doesn't really matter - I am just pleased we are able to visit the Poly - but if I can opt for a nice view rather than just allocated say the car park one, then I thought I would!!

I had to phone Virgin on another matter before our holiday last month and asked for my room requests to be noted and when I got to the hotel they knew about them, didn't quite get what I wanted but pretty close

we booked our holiday through disney and we are staying at the por i requested that we could have a mansion room and we were told that we probably would not get one as they are very popular and as we have 2 adults and 2 children and a 2 year old staying in a travel cot that the larger rooms at the mansions are the most popular and would not get one. i only asked as they are closer to the main buildings and that 6 years ago we stayed there for our honeymoon, we had one of the larger rooms as it had the trunk beds, husband and i were forever catching our legs on them, they were a real pain (literally), i was a bit miffed as she would not even entertain requesting it, perhaps i shall ring back and speak to someone else and they may be more helpful.

The first thing is which room category did you book through VH as that will then be the basis for your request, obviously a MK view request is not really compatible with a garden view booking. I don't think any Poly views are car park the basic view is garden.

Virgin were happy to note our ressie with "Tahiti" and "Tokelau" which are where I would like to be located. If we don't get them thn I will still be at the Poly so all's well in my world

I'm not worried about the view from the room so much, and as Claire says your room is likely to be of the variety you have booked.

We've booked a standard type of room so I thought it was better to request a specific longhouse and know that I won't get the elusive MK view

Still, you never know your luck and you may get a great view anyway, but I'm betting everyone wants those MK rooms and many will have paid to guarantee it

We stayed at POR in July/august and I don't agree that all mansions are nearer.We were at the back of oak manor and it was a good 10 minute walk to the main section.If you have a view of the lake then yes it is nearer but I would definatley say AB buildings 14 15 17 18 24 were nearer than ours.I think if there are 5 in your party you may well get AB as this is where the trundle beds are usually located thats probably why she said it would be hard to request one for you in mansionsAlthough there is quite a walk to fill your mug its a very pretty resort.

We requested oak manor or magnolia terrance corner room on high floor and got all we requested and that was going july /august.We put the request through virgin and also a virgin rep phoned us 10 days before we went and she double checked it.I am sure they will do there best to accomodate.Just don't have alist as long as your arm And staying at the poly I bet everywhere is lovley
