Room requests at HHI

I spoke with 2 different front desk CMs at HHI. Stephanie said that requests are first-come first-served on day of arrival. If it's slow she will look over requests before guests arrive in the morning, but it's still really FCFS. Medical requests are the only ones that are preassigned.

I also spoke with Connie -- met her on the shuttle from the Chevrolet service dept. Had a nice conversation and realized she LOVES working at HH Disney. Only works part time and not because she needs to (retired school principal). She confirmed what Stephanie said.

If you want to wait on a room, you can. So it probably helps to get there early. We got an awesome marsh view that was ready on arrival at about 1130am.

I guess this may be old news for most but wanted to confirm what you're up against when planning your strategy. I hate to reveal it, but ask for room 1522 or similar view if you want an unobstructed marsh view overlooking the short little boardwalk. (1512 would be the lower floor.) These are dedicated 2BRs with huge balconies.

Are we going to get a trip report? <G> We want to hear ALL the details! Where did you eat? What did you do? C'mon...spill it!

I can understand needing a non smoking room, but I have seen grown adults in total melt down like my 2 year old because they don't get the view that they wanted. I am willing to bet that most of these folks are not owners of HHI. My advise is just go with the flow. There is no bad view. The wooded view offers a nice view of nature. It makes your kids think you have gone camping.
