Room Requests at AKL

Hello everyone

My family has an upcoming stay at AKL Kidani and we currently have a 1 Bedroom Standard booked. We originally were looking at booking a Savanna view but there were not any rooms available with our promo code at the time of our booking.

I know there are some standard rooms with a partial savanna view and we were debating sending a room request in for one of them. Has anyone done this in the past or should we hold off and ask at the front desk when we check in if there are any savanna rooms available?

Also if we were going to ask when we arrived if there were any savanna rooms available should we hold off completing the online check in?

Yup. We have done it 4 times and gotten a partial Savannah view 3 times.

Rooms are assigned 2-3 days out so I would not wait until you arrive to make your requests known. You're best bet is to call the Main Reservation line and add any requests to your reservation. This can be done any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days out. When within that time frame makes no difference.

Doing online check-in won't prevent you from going to the desk to ask about other room choices. It's just a convenience, it doesn't mean that you're not allowed to speak with the CMs at the desk or to ask for a different room assignment, if one is available.

We are going at end of November for our honeymoon

I requested partial savanna view and that’s what it says on our invoice

I only pay for standard views because I pay for 2 rooms for everyone but this past June I just requested any view. We were put in rooms above one of the people pens but for that it would have been a savanna view. I got incredible pictures after a rain of a mother giraffe playing tag with her young one.

Does anyone know if the Penbe Savannah, on the north end of Kidani, is all Standard View (partial Savannah view), or are there actual Savannah View rooms that look out over it? Thanks.

Do all one bedroom rooms have two bathrooms? We stayed in Kidani for the Moonlight Magic Event and loved the added bathroom. We reserved a standard view and is it common to be placed in Kidani?

Just so you know:
The partial Savannah views at Kidani, with exception of maybe 2-3 rooms are NOT on the main Savannah, but a smaller area on the other side of one arm of the buildings. They are a long way from the lobby, and you won't see things like Giraffe and Zebra. You will see some antelope, a few birds, ect.

All Kidani one bedrooms have two full bathrooms. Jambo ones do not. Your reservation will say whether you booked Kidani or Jambo, they are bookable categories and not something you are randomly assigned.
