We’ll be staying at Pop in September with both sets of our parents and are trying to get rooms reasonably together. Our parents both prefer king rooms and there are a few spots where we could be in a two queen room and sandwiched between two king rooms. Is it better for us to note this on our reservation or use the Touring Plans room request? Both?

I would call central reservations directly and have them note on your reservation that you would like to e as close as possible, preferably next to both sets of parents. Have their reservation numbers handy when you call. I have always had great results when calling in room requests. I think they make every effort to try to accommodate families traveling together.

Assuming the number of beds per room didn't change with the refurbishment, there seem to be 110 king rooms at Pop. Only 30 are standard rooms; the other 80 are accessible. The likelihood of getting what you want is minimal.

If the parents would find a queen bed sufficient, or each be willing to sleep in a separate queen bed, you have a better chance of being close to each other.

I would do both, but just make sure the requests don't contradict each other in any way. When you call in, make sure the reservations the CM links your reservations as "travel together". I would then place the king room requests on the parents' rooms and adjoining requests on all three rooms to try to get close together. On Touring Plans, you can select a specific room and then place these requests in the notes.
