We arrive this evening. I did online check in. Will I receive a text if my room is ready or do we still go to the front desk?

Also, when would the text arrive and should we go tot he desk anyway?

Thanks!!

We got a text with our room number and we were able to go straight to the room without stopping at the desk when we checked in on Sat.

We received a text telling us our room wasn't ready shortly after we landed at MCO in the morning. Our room ready text came hours later, mid afternoon. We went straight to our room.

You may have gotten a text already...

When we went down in August, I had a text at 9:50 AM Eastern Time that my room was ready.

there is no predicting whether you will get the text before you arrive or not. I've never received mine before 2 pm and it has been at late as 5. I've also arrived, not received the text and my room was ready. If it's ready, you should get the text but sometimes they just aren't ready yet. I think you make a lot of specific requests there is probably less chance it's going to be ready early. I just say early arrival and that's it since I really don't care where my room is located.

On December 5th, I landed around 1:30 and went to DME. I got a text on the first stop (BWV was second), around 2:45, with my room #. I went straight to the room and I prayed my magic band would work (I was way at the end of the hall and had picked up my luggage). It did!

I have done 3 online check ins and have never received a text. They have always had my room ready when I went to the desk though?

I just returned 12/16 from a 3 way split. I got the room ready text w/ room number for AKV and for BWV. For VGF I had to swing by the front desk.
Note, even tho' I'd entered my cc info. to link all 3 rooms during on line check in, I discovered when attempting to purchase something that the cc hadn't been linked to the AKV room so I had to swing by the desk at AKV to get that done. At BWV the cc was linked and I never went to the front desk at all. VGF even tho' I stopped by the desk to check in they failed to link the cc so I had to return to the front desk to get the cc linked.

I went last month and when we landed at MCO, I had a text. We took our chance and went straight to our room when we arrived - the magic band worked :)
(Now, it didn't work for charges and dining at that time for some reason, but I fixed it later)

Oh this is very cool. In september, you only got the 1 txt that it was ready and we were really anxious all day hoping the online checkin was working. I actually complained to guest services that it would have been nice to get a informational 'we're looking forward to seeing oyu today, we'll text your room when it's ready" to know the system was functional.

I'm actually surprised they sent a "not ready" text at all. I see the potential for FAR too many people in their excitement to not read the "not" and can only imagine the chaos the poor CMs at the front desks will have to deal with. All those people who didn't read "not" yelling that they got a text that their room was ready. Eek!

Having being on the flip side where your trying to enjoy yourself wondering for 5 hours if you should have just went to the front desk, maybe the wording can be improved but having some "we're expecting you today" txt to let you know everyting is good is a nice change to me.

I've never gotten the room ready text at all - I don't think we EVER have. If our room isn't ready when we get there, we drop our stuff with bell services and go do what we had planned, and then when we go back to the resort we go to the front desk and get the room assignment. We're enjoying ourselves and not stressing because we know it will be there when we get back.

Of course we aren't picky about our room location, and we actually LIKE interacting with the CMs at the front desk, so skipping that process doesn't appeal to us at all.

We got our text as we were pulling up to BWV. Our estimated check in wasn't until 11 though. Even with the late check in, I'm very happy with the room.
