Does anyone think there may be a room only discount for early December? Unfortunately, our trip dates overlap some of the Pop Warner dates. I know we will probably not see free dining but hoping for a room only discount on the deluxe resorts? I have ressies at WL banking on a discount of some sort. If not, I need to rebook at a moderate resort. Any suggestions?

Hey fellow Buffalonian:flower3::flower3: Usually POP Warner Week is black out from any room discounts or free dining as it is now. I am going that week as well but paying full price. Gonna have a great time no matter what:cool1::cool1:

Hi Buffalonian! I wish I was making this trip but my daughter and her boyfriend are going. I went this exact time a few years back and I did get a great room only discount but I booked rather late. She has WL booked but hoping to get it cheaper. If not, they would probably book POR. She wanted to book Swan/Dolphin with a teacher discount, however, it is her understanding there is not free transportation to/from airport via Magic Express. It's a great time to be down there for sure!!!! Wish I was going!

I don't understand why a person books a room at rack rate and will only stay at that resort if discounts come out. These reservations will show more people staying at that resort and I would assume fewer discount rooms offered because of that. Why not book at the resort that you will stay at for rack rate. If discounts come out, then book at your first choice resort. Just wondering?

That's why we're currently doing. Have a trip planned for Dec. 8-16 and have a CSR room only from the 8-10 and then CSR from 10-16 with free dining.

But we'd really like to do a Poly/BC split. However, we won't change until when (and if) suitable room discounts come out. For us, the savings from these discounts have to be greater than free dining to entice us to switch (bottom like: we won't pay rack rate to stay deluxe, even with free dining; on the other hand, we think off-season rack rate at a moderate with free dining is a good deal).

I disagree - I think there's a good shot at a room only discount for early December, only historically it hasn't been released until later in the year.

I've always thought that mousesavers was accurate in their reporting, they show room only discounts for the last 2 years in early December, the year before that there was a package deal:

I hope it's ok to post that link. Pop Warner does seem to prevent a free dining offer during that time but it's been my observation that the sports teams mostly stay at values, some at moderates - I personally don't think they have a lot of effect on bookings at the deluxe resorts, just my opinion. Looking around at the deluxe resorts for the first week in December - there's tons of availability still. If Disney has an excess of rooms, there will likely be a discount.

Anyway, I think there's hope :thumbsup2 although it's may be October even before released.

This is sort of my line of thinking as well. Room discounts haven't historically had as many blackouts as FD and, in any event, Pop Warner wouldn't seem to affect bookings in deluxes (although they may push some who normally stay value to a non-Pop Warner moderate).

I have went during Pop Warner week the last few years and made room only and then got free dining later when they the added package. Last year they had first week of Dec. my week and changed the dates as to not include first week, but if you already had made package with FD you kept it. :tink: Also, had AP discounts Pop Warner week for room only a few years.
