:worship:Hi everyone--I'm sure this has been answered before and I remember seeing an answer quite a long time ago, but can't seem to find it. I really should know this, but isn't there fairly standard times throughout the year when Disney releases room discounts. I'm going in December--right now I have a regular rate at WL--and I want to know when I should start looking for discounts for this time. I'm going the 1st full week in December and I know they almost always have discounts for that week. Any assistance would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks mucho all!:worship:

I think WL may not get discounts due to the reduction in room availability there. Already pretty full for those dates, and discounts happen to fill rooms.

Not tied to WL--would definitely consider elsewhere. Also in the running are YC and BWI, but other deluxe options would be okay too....money talks (and money saved) when it comes to a Disney vacation!

Isn't the WL going to be undergoing a large expansion? I'd be concerned with construction.

It is under construction.

The lodge room inventory is currently cut in half. Rumor has the rooms out of inventory becoming DVC. If they have only half the regular rooms to fill, discounts become less likely due to supply.

They have not released any information other than the cabins on the lake. Rumor is they will also be converting some rooms in the lodge to DVC.

I've heard about the construction at WL. They will have lakeside bungalows like the Polynesian and will be converting existing rooms to DVC, also like the Polynesian just did. I'm not really worried about being there during construction. I'm a very early riser and will most likely be out of the room the entire time they are working. Spend a lot of time at the parks, so not really concerned about pool, etc. being discontinued while I'm there. Also, if I don't get a discount on the room, I have no problem going to a different resort with a discount--I'm easy, especially when it comes to saving a few dollars on my Disney vacation--have to save as much $$$ for food and stuff while I'm there after all!:tilt:

If you're not in the room much, then I'd look at at moderate or value resorts. I honestly was (and still to an extent am) a resort snob. Tried Pop Century with my DD last August (she really wanted to try it, and we got free QSDP which is perfect since we prefer CS meals as opposed to making reservations) and for the two of us it was wonderful! Going back again! We didn't even have time to swim, darn it! Next trip we will for sure. It was so inexpensive and we upgraded to AP's again.
