Room Discount?

My husband and I are new DVC members and have a quick question. We usually travel to WDW with my family. I know that we are going to have a hard time sharing our points, but we do like to all stay together at the same resort. Our home is SSR and I know that there are some cash reservations available, but I was wondering if there is any DVC discount that could be used with this. Thanks for the info.

Depending upon availability, you can make cash ressies through Member Services with a 25% discount off of rack rate. You, as the member, would need to be in the cash room. Your family could stay on the point ressie.

You may depending on season, get a better discount through regular Disney Reservations, if you have an Annual Pass...but you can not add the dining plan to AP discounted rooms.

You could also look into renting/transfer points from another DVC member.
We did this last month. It worked out great!!! My mother rented points. We had the seller transfer the points to my account. I then made the reservations for both parties at the same resort. It was ssoooo easy and now we are all looking forward to our family vacation in April.
