sorry i posted in the other thread. I saw lily and she answered this question

if your name doesnt fit, put as much as you can. If you cant put anything because your name has no useable words use a word that starts with the same letter.

I will give examples

my name is bestacedjbestace and it doesnt fit
so i use this
gingerbread house ace best

my name is zorlkdjgieagjis and it doesnt fit
no useable words in my name
so i come up with this
gingerbread house zebra

good luck everyone. I answered some other popular questions in the other comp thread.

Thanks very much!

I have a question. What Lily (who rocks, btw :cheer2: ) said doesn't match with what the newsletter says. I take the newsletter to mean we just title our room "Gingerbread House"; it says nothing about including as much as you can or a word with the first letter the same as the first letter of your title. Since they are such sticklers for following guidelines in these competitions, if I title my room "Gingerbread House Sorcerer" will I not get judged? Curious because what is posted above doesn't match the newsletter's info. :confused3

I don't think I'd worry about it too much. Just put "Gingerbread House" in the title and they'll find it. As long as the name you registered with the contest matches the name that owns the room. I'm certain that TPTB can list all your rooms under that name and find the one titled "Gingerbread House".

Good luck to all who entered!

ps - can i lick the bowl mixers??

I know what your saying, and I do have screen shots to refer to. What she suggested is a bit MORE than what the newsletter says. Believe me I dont want to spread confusion. I would speculate but this is to important to do so. I am just passing information the way it was given to a room full of people.

aengus, I believe what you're saying; I don't need screenshots. ;) I am just concerned because some folks on another site were saying we should include whatever could fit, and someone else said no because that wasn't in the newsletter and we thus might not be following the posted guidelines.

I know I'm a worrywart (and frankly very Type A and somewhat OCD-ish to boot :lmao: ), but I hate building rooms in the best of times and don't want to spend hours trying to figure things out only to mess it up with the title. Knowing me, I will find a way to mess it up anyhow though; There is a reason I have never opened rooms to the public of VMK aside from Dreams month. :rotfl2:

heh, I didnt think you thought i was lying. I just meant I have reviewed the screen shots ROFL. Just in case VMK dictionary was getting in the way. I can say I asked it a second time, should we just put gingerbread house as the title if we cant get any part of our name in. She said it would be easier if you used something with the same letter as your name.

I can only assume that the reason for this is because the list they have to visit rooms is in alphabetical order.
If Gingerbread House Angus didnt work and he went and used Gingerbread House Zebra ... they would have to search through 2000 entries to find him.
Cloiepooh would not work on my room
So I named it Gingerbread House Crazy

Gingerbread House Cloiepooh should work if that's how your title is spelled in
VMK (including caps or lowercase letters). I found it difficult to put my
room title up until I just cleaned out the description of the room entirely
and started with a blank room title.

At that point I was able to name it Gingerbread House BriarLori (and I had put
a space after my title so it wouldn't flash red.) Try using your VMK title
again.

I ran into a problem myself in my room. Could not type my Gingerbread House Disvaclub at all. I could never get a space after Gingerbread to type in House.

Finally I typed GingerbreadHouseDisvaclub then went back and put spaces in and it worked.

Just an FYI for those who may have this problem.
