This is our first trip with out DVC points & I have read all of the threads i could find on preferred view (unfortunately our bw view waitlist did not come through) IS there a Section or side I should request? I have seen these maps: http://www.willcad.org/maps/resorts/resort_bw.pdf and this one:http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u282/VWL_Granny/BWVRoomViews.jpg
But I don't know if these sections they show have names or descriptions. I know I don't want to look out on the Luna poll w/all of the construction. (can that be a request -to not have rooms looking out on Luna Park Pool?) And the one map does show the other part of BWV (with the red, blue & green lines), so I am unsure about which one of those are preferred view, but some of that area does not seem to be bad either. I would like a view that perhaps you can see a pool, or part of one of the parks. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks! Debbie

Hi Debbie

We just came home from BWP on the 9th of January and had a wonderful room over looking Luna Pool. Yes it did close a few days after we arrived but the only change was a fencing put around the perimeter of the pool. The view we had from the fifth floor was amazing. We had a studio room #5056 and it was very close to the 5th floor lobby and elevators and just a great overall location. Hope that is helpful to you.

Yes that is helpful! Oh, so whatever they are doing is not that loud or disruptive? We too are getting a studio & have DS21 & DD19 & I wanted to them to enjoy the view if they could. I am "directionally" challenged. Did that view look towards MGM? Thanks, Debbie

Don't be too sorry that your BW view didn't come through. On our first trip home, I requested a 2 bd BW view, not realizing that the bars stay open late. Our room was above the Crest O' The Wave, which is close to the Atlantic Dance Hall and Jellyrolls. Every night or should I say early morning, we were awakened by drunken party goers.
Last trip, I requested the standard view (parking lot) but it was quiet and we enjoyed our trip much more.

I requested the little area over Wyland gallery as it has a partial BW view and that small garden area maybe even Epcot.

All the Red is prefered. Blue is BW view and green is standard.

If a MGM view is what you need then ask for that.they might be able to get you a high floor facing that way.

5056 looked out at the canal-MGM to the left and the Swan was to our right. You could see and hear parts of Fantasmic every evening and the Tower of Terror was in full view. If I can get the pics up and running that were taken from our deck I will send them off to you.

Hi-- I didn't word my statment very well. I knew what the colors meant, but they are not marked on the "epcot" side of the bwv map, so I was not sure on that side of the map which was preferred view! Where is the WYland gallery located? Thanks fellow Marylander!! Deb

Oh, that would be wonderful--I'll check back here later!! Deb

I'll add my standard warning. I have (and some other regular BWV guests have had) lousy luck at getting any view requests met. If I ask for high floor I'm on the ground floor. If I want close to the elevators, I can see the tennis courts. Its like opposite day for the room assigners. I've never had a bad room (the ground floor room turned out to be SO convienent to the pool that we requested it again - and ended up on the third floor), I've just never gotten even remotely what I've asked for. Other people have had better luck. May you be one of them.

Thanks for the warning, Crisi. I'll prepare for the worst & hope for the best!!HA! Debbie

The Wyland it that very small RED area on the map that faces the Inn part of BW facing away from Luna Pool.. I guess it's considered a Courtyard view and it is towards Epcot . The rest of Prefered view is on the canal or MGM side of the villas.

And Yes we have a good bit of marylanders here on the DIS and DVC.

I just book DM and DsF into AKV for part of our stay . I was glad they still had a studio available. The busy signals and hold times today were just crazy.

Enjoy your trip we also have had some great and some not so great views but as long as we have a room we are just fine with whatever they give us as well.

Without making any requests, once I got a dedicated studio looking at the Village Green. It had a huge balcony, and I loved it!

crisi--you're comment about getting the opposite of what you request is exactly what happens to me, no matter where I stay! One time I will request the exact opposite of what I want because that's the only way I'll really get what I want.:hippie:

Hi Again
I just had DH guide me through the process and hopefully the pic I wanted to send is here.

Hope this gives you an idea of what our view was.

You guys are right. Everytime I request a view or a room I get exactly the opposite. WOW I'm glad to hear it's not only me. Sorry though. I was thinking it was me. Thanks for building my self esteem. I do have to say though I stayed in a room over the Wyland Gallery and loved it.

We actually didn't request a room or even have any idea of what to request. DH went over early in the morning from SSR and just asked for a nice room and the CM told him that our boys would love this spot. She was right!!
