I'm sorry to ask as I'm sure this has been covered many times, but I can't find an answer anywhere. I have a family of 6, myself, DH, DS(11), DD(8), DD(5), and DS(1). We are looking to visit US in Feb 2006. This is our first time as we are BIG Disney fans. How many prople are allowed in a standard room at any of the US resorts? Does my baby count?
Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usually five people are permitted in standard rooms. Not sure if the baby counts. You can have more than five in some suites.

We have twin 1yr olds and daughters 12 and 17 and were told the babies count and had to have 2 rooms for the 6 of us.

Thanks for your feedback. I called US and they said my baby would count. At Disney children do not count until they are three. There is no way I could afford two rooms at US. Two value rooms at Disney is do-able, but not at US. Any suggestions. I really didn't want to stay offsite.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See which is cheaper two rooms or a suite. I don't know how many days you're planning on staying but with FOTL you can probably do both parks in two days. You might just stay onsite for 2 or 3 nights and find cheaper accomodations for the rest of your trip.

I guess you could leave one of your kids home. ;)

I guess I'm confused about why babies in a crib would count. Not that I like to bend the rules, but if you bring your own pack-n-play then why would they need to know (you don't need a room key for a 1 year old!!). Now maybe there would be a space issue if you needed 2 cribs (fire hazard??). Would the twins sleep together in 1 crib - I know my cousin used to do that with her twins when she had to.

The hotel gets to make the rules. It might be a space issue. OP is asking about a standard room, I don't know if she would have gotten a different answer if she was looking to book a deluxe room.

We found ourselves in the same situation this year and I was pretty upset about having to get two rooms, but here are some thoughts I had. If you only want to stay at the parks for two days, you only really need a room for one night. You can check into the hotel as early as you want (your room won't be ready) and if you are well rested and are sure you will be able to stay at the parks until around 4:00, you can go ahead and go over and have one day there. Your FOTL is good for the day you check out, so you could check out the next day and still stay at the parks all that day. That is a real hassle, but if you were just trying to fit US/IOA into your vacation for a couple of days, it is an option. Also, if you wanted to stay long enough to get one of their "Stay 4" deals, with two rooms you would get four free park tickets. You could also check the AAA or APH discounts. The suites are much more expensive than getting two rooms (even though you might save $$ fixing your own meals), and if you were staying 4 or more days you would only get two park tickets. Good luck!!! We're just going to have to get the two rooms. :sad2:

I would buy one annual pass and you would probably be able to get a room at RPR for around $119 in February. Then the two rooms are not so expensive and you get great discounts on food and merchandise in the parks as well.
