Ahh..our 1st trip ever is in just 33 days! Beyond excited!! And while the kiddos are the main focus, we're lucky enough to be travelling with grandma and dh & I should be able to sneak out for a couple romantic dinners. :cool1:

Any suggestions? Especially interested in Epcot & maybe someplace at Downtown Disney since the other days we're probably with the kiddos the entire time.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be romantic - just a good grown up meal where no one expects me to cut their food into bite size pieces.

Thanks for the feedback!

I haven't yet eaten there but I've always thought the restaurant in the Moroccan pavillion Restaurant Marrakesh looked so exotic and grown up. I don't know how adventurous you'd like to get with food though. Most romantic meal I ever had at WDW was hands down Artist Point. Very grown up, very elegant. I also love Flying Fish on the boardwalk too. Good luck choosing.

I know it's not in EPCOT or Downtown Disney like you suggested, but I would highly recommend the California Grill. It's at the top of the Contemporary Resort with a great view of the MK. Wonderful food, great service, and I like the decor which was done by Michael Dorf(?). You'll need an ADR, and it's pricey...but oh, so worth it.
Enjoy your trip!

We've found the California Grill to be less than romantic, it tends to be pretty loud each time we've gone in the evening. If you stick to earlier, close to opening, it's quieter.

I think Jiko is much more romantic in that the interior is dim and it's more of a hushed atmosphere. We can hear each other at Jiko without shouting. :)

Mexico Pavilion is dark, and candle lit...I thought it was romantic, for those with kids

I agree!! This is a necessary stop for us on each trip.

Thank you all so much!

I am so overwhelmed at how helpful everyone on this board is. I'm going to look into all of these suggestions. I'll have to do a trip report when I get back to let you know what we decided on!

Thanks again! :flower:

I couldn't agree more with debloco. The view at night is VERY romantic. When I think of the EPCOT restaurants, the only one that you might consider romantic is the Bistro De Paris. Have a lovely time wherever you go. :lovestruc

I agree Bistro de Paris is very romantic (and one of the best restaurants on site). If you manage to get a window table you also get a great view of Illuminations.

le cellier steakhouse at canada worldshowcase is our favorite restaurant at wdw. superb food filet mignon, salmon, canadian bacon cheddar soup, cozy stone room with fireplace. le origanle alfredos at italy worldshowcase homemade fetticine alfredo, strolling musicians. le bistro de paris is probably one of the most romantic as its a small intimate restaurant on the second floor in france worldshowcase. it has 2 person tables, chandaliers, some tables with views of the lagoon & fireworks. san angel inn restaurant inside the mexico ruins, worldshowcase. romantic lighting & ambiance good fajitas & margaritas. nine dragons restaurant china worldshowcase great chinese, colorful ambiance, try feeding eachother with chopsticks ;) .

but there's also victoria & alberts at the grand floridian which is like the creme de la creme of wdw, fancy restaurant with 9 courses, wine pairings, jackets required, roses for female guests its just lovely. we also like artist point at the wilderness lodge with its forest view salmon, steak, then we have smores at ft wilderness. jiko at the animal kingdom lodge is also an exotic restaurant with ethnic foods & great wine. fun to wonder the resort afterwards too & see the animals at night.

as for dtd we like fultons crabhouse great seafood followed by a shared sundae at ghiradelli, yummy.

We really enjoyed the downstairs restaurant at France (Le Chefs d'France).

Of course I'm going to reccommend Victoria and Alberts. yes it's pricey...but the romance and food are well worth it.

Another vote for Le Cellier!!! We did it for Valentine's last year - great food and cozy atmosphere. It felt like we were all alone... :goodvibes We did California Grill a while back and were not crazy about it - nice view, but didn't care for the food. Some day we will get to Victoria and Albert's - that sounds sooo romantic! Have a great time!!!
