Dear LeeLee,

While scrolling through to find information for our upcoming Disney trip I stumbled upon your thread. I was so hooked that I read all of it in 2 days! I also have a disAbility (muscular dystrophy). I am a HUGE advocate for people with disabilities and your story really hit home for me. B is such an inspiration and your family is wonderful. You don't let your circumstances get in your way and I don't either. You had me laughing and crying. I can relate to alot of what you were saying. My fiance can too. His sister who unfortunately is no longer with us, got a Wish Trip. He and his family went along with her when he was a kid. He has many memories of it. We can't wait to make new memories when we get there. I just had to tell you that you are an amazing woman. Not sure if you've heard of this...but the power of attraction is with you. You always see the positive and therefore you receive the positive. Kudos to you. Can't wait to see what you'll write next.

I just finished reading through all of this in 2 days! I have loved hearing about your family. My twins are miracles too. They were born at 27 weeks and my little boy barely made it. To make it worse, when they did go home from the hospital, they were in a horribly negligent situation. They were 4 when we adopted them. Anyway, they both have CP that affects them each in different ways. They are making tremendous progress (we have a great OT) and are a blast. It sounds impossible, but it really is a blessing to raise special needs kids!

I have to say that I have been so impressed by your faith. We are a Christian family too, and I totally understand how you feel about trusting in God to see you through.

I can't wait for the rest of the report!

Hey B, this is for you....

Stephanie, How very nice to "meet" you!! Thank you very much for the kind words. Really i'm just a mom and wife who loves her family! Ms. Wheelchair Huh?? AND a fearless advocate???? To me that makes YOU a Super AMAZING woman yourself!!!! You are the type of person that I love tat just gets out their and lives your life and not only do you see our abilities but that in turn makes others see the Ability in the Disability instead of just the disability!!! I might have to pm you sometime. I'm learned quickly that I had to be an advocate for my son cause no one else was if I didn't but I don't have t he fearless part down yet. My insides swirl my knees shake and I can feel myself starting to glow (Southern women do NOT sweat for anybody wondering!!!! )Of course thats where my acting skills come in handy, I knew the Lord gave me thosefor a reason!! I don't think people think I'm nervous but Oh Lord am i ever!!
I know you and your fiance will have a great time and have some awesome memories when you get back! If you arent' already planning to why don't you think of writing a TR when you get back? I think you would have some great tips and insight for those with DISabilities but also I think you will have some great memories that we would love to share with you!!!! to you and for the whole family! I feel bonded to you already!!!! You are one of my new heros. 2 with CP and twins at that WOW!! Do ya'll do any other therapy besides OT?? We do OT PT and hippotherapy now. Until 2 weeks ago we also had VI and O&M but the lord has healed Braetons vision so we don't qualify for that anymore.

Oh did I post that on here yet?? If I didn't I need too!!

and thanks for the smilies for he boys I'll have to sow themwhen they get home. They spent the night with my parents last night while DH and I wnet with our young people from church to a youth Rally in Jennigs! I couldn't remember what area you were from but I guarantee I was a lot closer to you last night than I usually am!! I thought of you! i love Texas. I was born here. But there are some things i love in La and I got 2 of them last night! Fried alligator and Shrimp gumbo!! And sme good sweet tea!1 Yummm Yummm I was going to get the Bourbon street bread pudding with Rum Sauce but passed it up infavor of some Krispy Kreme Donuts since we don't have a Krispy Kreme anywhere near us anywhere. Since they shut the one down in Houston you can't even get them at the gas stations any more!1
O.k. I will be wroking on another update. We don't have school Mon so maybe I can get it posted then. If not sooner........

Sounds like a good time! That's still pretty far from me, but yes you were closer.

I live about 30 miles north of New Orleans. I don't think I could ever live in the north! Texas, now that I could deal with.

Isn't our gumbo the bestest tasting thing you've ever eaten! Glad you got some alligator too! It tastes like CHICKEN doesn't it?

Krispy Creme? We don't have any near me, either. We have Tastee though!!!

I've been away from the Disboards b/c well, we can't go on another trip till who knows when because we simply can't afford too, I was feeling sorry for myself and than I found this. Thank you for whipping my butt back into shape to realize that God's blessings come in all shapes and forms and that there is always a light at the end of the rainbow. Your families story has inspired me, truly..I am a pre-k classroom aide, I work with a little guy who just turned 4, he can walk with a gate trainer, doesn't say to many words, but he calls me by my last name & he has the best smile!! Best of luck with everything your family continues to go through. Your Tyler should be commended for being such an awesome big brother! Braeton's smiles when he met Mickey, just made my heart melt!! I've gone through an entire box of Kleenex reading this and I simply can't wait for more! May God Bless all of the people who helped your family make this trip an extra special one!!!

Your boys are wonderful and your DH sounds like such a sweetheart. God Bless you for having the patience to deal with all of the challenges and setbacks that you do.

I have done 3 CPs, two of which were in entertainment, and seeing your boys with the characters brought tears to my eyes. Don't ever feel guilty for taking up a character's time (this goes for all of the wish families). Your families make our day, there's no way for us to have a bad day after that! I am praying for your family, hopefully Shannon gets his kidney soon.
