Saturday Oct. 15th – Leave Atlanta around 10 and arrive at MCO around 11:30.
Check in with ME and are on the bus in about 10 minutes. About 20 minutes after that we arrived at POFQ. Very impressed with ME. DH is amused at the efficiency of “the (Disney)machine.” He is still not sure about whether this is his idea of a vacation. Yes, it’s efficient, but it’s almost like Big Brother.

The hotel grounds are well-manicured, and we love the small size of the resort. Speedy check-in at FQ, and we are on our way to MK. Oh, the concierge took our tickets from Ticketmania and put them onto our room keys. I was pleased as this seemed much more convenient. I was concerned that since we didn’t buy them from Disney, they might not, but it wasn’t a problem We realized our room would not be ready and that our luggage would not be accessible, so we wore appropriate park clothes on the plane.

We wait for the MK bus for about 5 minutes, and it rolls up. Lots of people get off as we are getting on. At this point it’s about 1PM. We manage to get a seat and then we proceed on to Riverside. Wow – I’ll tell you what – I am so glad we chose FQ over Riverside. The bus situation alone is enough in my opinion to justify that choice. We were always first on and first off. About 20 minutes later we arrive at MK. Yes it’s a Saturday and it’s crowded, but we’re finally here. I look over at DH before we enter the park and I can tell, he’s not so sure about this whole thing. He’s expecting a larger version of Six Flags and although I know WDW is so much more, I’m still worried he’s not going to like it.

Anyway, we get into the park and do the bioscans (speaking of Big Brother!). :rotfl: We decide to head left and make our way to Adventureland. The first ride we encounter is Jungle Cruise and the wait is only about 20 minutes, so we get in line. As we are waiting in line, I’m thinking to myself, this is such a cheesy ride, maybe I should have made DH go on Splash Mountain or something more impressive to begin with. I don’t want his already skeptical view to be re-enforced by my ride selection. We get on board and the bad puns start flying. Our tour guide says, “See the rock formation to your left? It’s limestone. Don’t take it for granite!” At this point I realize all is good. My husband loves cheesy puns and totally gets a kick out of all of the bad jokes on the ride.

We get off of JC and head over towards POTC. pirate: The wait is only about 10 minutes. I’m thinking to myself didn’t Touring plans say that today would be a 7???? It doesn’t appear to be all that bad. I had really prepared myself and DH for looooong lines, but it just wasn’t that bad. I told DH to ask one of the CM’s who George was as we walked into the ride. He asked someone and all she said was, “George? He’s my friend.” Anyway the ride didn’t break down, and DH got off with a big grin on his face.

At this point we headed towards Splash Mountain. OK there were definitely crowds here. The line was about 40 minutes. We decided to take a FP. We went up to get the FP (keep in mind this is the first time we have done this) and we get a ticket that says “This is not a Fast Pass.” Soooo, I’m thinking, what did I do wrong???? DH goes over to a CM and explains to her that we just arrived in the park and did not have any other Fast Passes. She asks which machine it was and says it’s been acting up all day. She then gives DH two Fast Passes that are good immediately. So we really lucked out. We didn’t have to wait at all and waltzed onto SM. I thought DH would really like this, but he said he enjoyed POTC more. After this we went to Thunder Mountain Railroad and waited about 20 minutes. Great Ride!

At this point it was almost 3PM, and we were both hungry. Luckily Pecos Bills wasn’t far. It was crowded, but we had great burgers with a bunch of fixings!

Ok – this is getting way too long, so I’ll shorten up my descriptions. After lunch we hit
Country Bear Jamboree – we were the only adults in there that didn’t have kids, and I think next time, I might skip it, but there wasn’t a line and it is good nostalgia.

Haunted Mansion – 10 minute wait. My favorite ride at WDW and DH was really impressed with the details in the ride. We were both irritated though that the crowd continued to talk as we got into the Mansion and the walls began to rise. They didn’t stop talking until we got on the doom buggies. I can’t believe some people. As far as I’m concerned that is part of the ride, and it’s what helps set the mood.

It’s a Small World- Waited 25 minutes. Ok – I wouldn’t do it again and neither would DH, but I’m glad he saw it at least once.

Mickey’s Philharmagic – We got a FP for this: a total waste as there wasn’t a line. Anyway, it was great and by far the best 3D movie in the parks.

Snow White – Waited 5 minutes. I forgot how dark this ride was. As we got off they were having problems and had shut it down. I don’t know if it was up and running later in the day.

We then cruised down to Tomorrowland and got on the Carousel of Progress. I was glad this was open because I heard they shut it down frequently. There were not many people on the ride, but I enjoyed seeing it again. DH and I sang the song as we moved from era to era.

We discussed going on Space Mountain, and I just wasn’t up for it at this point. I told DH to go and I’d wait for him, but he really didn’t want to go without me. I wish he had.

We got a FP for Buzz Lightyear and rode TTA twice without getting off. At least DH got to see a little of Space Mountain!

We then rode Buzz Lightyear which I enjoyed, but DH kicked my booty badly. Like one-hundred thousand points badly…

Finally we finished dinner at the Terrace Noodle Station and both had decent but not great noodle dishes.

We thought about staying for Wishes, but it was really getting crowded, and we were both anxious to make sure that our luggage had arrived at the hotel before it got too late. So we weaved our way through the dense crowd and made it out to the buses. Luckily we got to our room and ME had successfully placed our luggage in our room. We were in room 4120. As far as I was concerned it was great. We were so close to the bus stop and the food court. We decided to purchase the mugs (no flaming, please) and were glad we were close to the Coke fountain. No complaints here!
