Good luck on the diet everyone. I can't take part in the effort as it would make me gain weight. I always gain weight when I set out to really try and lose it. I don't like being told what to do even by myself, so I cheat and rebel!

Denine, not gaining in itself is an accomplishment. Susan, NO MORE over indulging in hamburgers! Sandy, no more PIZZA! (At least I didn't gain!). But the guilt is enough to kill me. Ah heck, Lori. You don't need to lose weight. Last time I saw you on your birthday you put me to shame.

Bonnie, the Bon Voyage party is a wonderful idea but we have to decline the invitation. It is our 28th anniversary tomorrow. Go Ted and Sandy!!!!! Let me know the time and if I am around maybe I can peek in. Darren would love the attention!

Krista, I would love to see St. Thomas that way next time. You are very lucky! Unfortunately, with graduation in May our $$$ will be spent that way. We had the bushwackers at Paradise Point. It has vodka, dark creme de cocoa, ice cream (we use cream), kahlua and pina colada mixed with ice. Yummy! It was so refreshing on a hot day. It was like drinking a shake.

Barb, we beat you to shampooing the carpet. We did it last Sunday. Our new furniture came this Monday and we wanted to get the carpet cleaned before they came.

Jeez Denine. The least you could have done was to offer one of us the part of the boobs you got rid of!!! So much for friendship!

Bonnie, Heidi told me she talked to you briefly yesterday. She didn't want to snub you so you wouldn't wonder why I didn't respond. Hey, I emailed you and never got a response. Sooooo-what is the answer?

Time for some self pity. Please be honest. Have any of you ever felt like you weren't cut out to be a parent, after you had kids? Today was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some days, I just don't feel like I can do this! ( I am crying as I type this). I love Kaleigh, but she makes everything so hard. If the book says something can go easily or difficult, you can bet it is as difficult as it can be. I have pawned her off on Jerry for the rest of the night. Hence, my diet was not what it should have been for a person trying to lose weight. I just keep telling myself that it has to get better, it just doesn't seem to. Being cooped up in this house all winter hasn't helped. Please tell me that it will get better!

No news on this front. I had dinner at my Mom's since my cousin is here from Cape Coral, Florida. Her and her Mom came up for a funeral. It is an old neighbor of my Aunt's who she has been friends with for about 50 years.

Joyce & I are working all weekend of course since the weather is supposed to be in the 50's.

Yes Denine...it does get better!!! There are bad days and then there are good days! Wait until she starts walking and talking! And when she starts to become more independent you will wish for her to be an infant again! Babies have bad days too...and it seems as though they always know how to push those mom buttons! If you are having a bad day they feel it too.

It will get better!!!! Believe me!!! Wait until spring when you can get outside with her in the sun...dress her up in cute little outfits! It will all be worth it...
Oh...Talbot's has the cutest little dress for infants!!!! Sooooo classy! LOL! Thinking of getting it for my grand-daughter to be. Of course I would think twice about spending that kind of money on a dress for me! LOL!

Cheer up!!! The good times are coming...maybe the teeth are starting. Hey, if my grandmother was here she would probably give her a sip of a "highball". She did that to my son when he was an infant and I hit the ceiling...she said "there's nothing wrong with it...you think I didn't give you a sip at that age? " LOL!

Hey Denine, It will get better! I still have days like that, but they do get better. You are a terrific parent who loves her little girl with every inch of her soul. Just remember, I'm only one phone call away! When you feel like you are going to lose it, call me and I can come over, you come over, or I'll watch Kaleigh while you take some time for yourself! You definitely need some ME time!

Party for Darren, sounds good, but Makenzie got invited to her first birthday party! Her friend Sydnee from school invited her over. The party starts at 4:00pm. I will be with you in spirit though! Make sure you tell Darren (cause you will sending him a copy of the party) I said HI and WAY TO GO! I can't wait to hear how his first cruise as a cast member goes!

I know where you are coming from. I am a child development specialist and thought this parenting thing would be a piece of cake. HAAAAA!

It is HARD. It was terribly hard when people would come up to me and say, "Isn't this the greatest time of you life?" And I wanted to jump down their throat, yelling H$#@ No." I am sleep deprived, drooled on, cried at and have no life!!!

Yes it does get better, but what you need now is a little time off. Keep pawning her off on Jerry, friends, neighbors, etc until YOU feel better. Go on walks, anything outside with her or without her. You know, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

People always told me that time would go so quickly when I had Clare. Well let me tell you, it does now, but DID NOT that first year. After that though, hold tight for a wild, wonderful ride.

Where's Diana when we need her, I am certain she would have some choice tips!!

Thanks for the support guys. Jerry tries to understand, but he can't fully because he is not home with her ALL day. I'd love to be able to go outside with her, but that is part of the problem, we can't! The weather sucks!
I am better today. I went to bed early last night. I worked this morning and we are going down to Amish for the rest of the day when she finishes her bottle. Won't be here for Darren's Bon Voyage party, just wishing I was there on the Magic with him.
Krista, thanks for the laugh. People think I am crazy for saying that I can't wait until she is no longer an infant.

Lori, the Disneyland clearance store (AMS) is back at Southglenn again. It is across from Victoria Secrets starting today. There wasn't anything at Colorado Mills but still plan to go to Southglenn just in case. I am like Ben. Have to watch for those bargains!

My blue jeans are fitting looser today. Makes me want to try even harder. I don't think it is what I did but what the flu did for me.

Hang in there Denine. Those days definitely happen and when you are sleep deprived, everything is amplified. Remember all of the reasons you wanted her as an infant and you'll see that it really is for the best and definitely worth while. I've had to stop in my tracks and pray every so often, then a nice flood of Love carries me through.

I'll try to check back in a few hours. The gang is off riding bikes to the park right now. OH, BIG NEWS!! Today, Cody's Pinewood Derby car came in 1st for his class and 2nd in time for the whole pack over-all! I'm told that we're now supposed to go to a district finals in April.
