Roll Call. Oct.19,02 Cruisers Continued...

I feel like I have been away forever instead of just missing a day. I finally got Kaleigh to sleep and read the pages I missed.

Darren: Have a MAGICal time!!!!!!! Are you going to WDW after the cruise?

Julie: Friday at 8 PM is fine with me.

Garry: I have a friend that is graduating this weekend from the police academy. He lives in Fairview, NJ. Is this close to any of you Dudettes? I met his girlfriend and him on a Disney cruise in 2001. I mostly keep in touch with his girlfriend.

More cookie baking tonight. I had to take last night off. Had other things to do. My biggest challenge right now is to figure out how NOT to try to do everything. Before Kaleigh, I had 11 years of housekeeping and marriage. I am still trying to do it all, and it is not working. I am exhausted!!!!!! I am also a perfectionist.

Barb, that is so sweet that the story will get published. It was heartwarming to read your post. Sounds like your niece had a loving extended familly that helped her through her illness.

Friday at 6:00 is good for me. Oops, 6 Denver time. Lori will be at work and it might cause problems for her, we'll see.

I am going to the police station tonight and try and get this thing going. I am just now running nervous on my decision not to have her ticketed. Barb, maybe you can help me with this. Because she did not get a ticket that day, does that mean legally that MY insurance has to pay for repairs on my car? She did offer to pay for it. They don't want to get the insurance co. involved. How much time do I have to consider whether or not to report it to the insurance co? According to the policeman, the state can still yank her license. Ted said that the 4 wheel drive is okay, the alignment wouldn't really be a problem with the way I hit her but the steering column definitely has a problem and he thinks that the power steering feels different. We plan to have it checked this week or early next week.

Diana, be careful driving. I run nervous, too, on a winter driving trip. Truffles, my my. Sounds so hard! There is talk of a cookbook by all of us with several recipes from each one of us. Sally and Julie have volunteered to work together to put it together. Doesn't that sound like fun? I figure that I will get the recipes out to one of them AFTER Christmas. Sally asked that the recipes be "snail mailed" to her. Julie's preference????

My gosh, Denine. How many different cookies do you make???

I have received several recipes already. I don't know if Sally has received any. You can email me your recipes if you want. Sally and I are still trying to figure out how to put it all together being from different states. So I guess you can send your recipes to either one of us. And then Sally and I can figure out how to get them to each other. Or whatever! I have already received around 8 recipes. I don't know how many Sally has gotten. Let me know Sally!

By the way, Susan says hello. She will try to get on later tonight but Turner has a hockey game tonight and she wasn't on this moning because she over slept. She said she's tired, but doing ok. She is trying to be super mom again!

Two more batches of cookies are made. Only the cutouts are left. Jerry has to be home for those because he loves to decorate them. I ususally make several different kinds of cookies at Christmas. This year, I kind of cheated. I had a base recipe and made different kinds from that. I made a butter cookie, a peppermint cookie, almond, and chocolate chip/pecan. I also made Mocha balls. I love to bake and the holidays are my excuse. I take them to both parents on Christmas, to friends houses when we go after Christmas and New Years Eve. Sometimes, I take them to work. Plus, we love to eat them!!!!! I need excuses to bake, because we really would be fat if I baked all the time.

Now it is time to go relax with some popcorn!

Diana-did you translate or did you actually type it in French? The funny part is I could read it! 5 years of French in Jr and Sr high. I can read it but I can know longer write or speak it! Drive safely to Georgia! Will you be passing through NJ at all??? Probably not. PA I'll bet.

Sandy-I hope you get things staightened out with the car! Be careful driving it in the meantime!

Denine- If you're talking about the Fairview that is in Camden County that is not far from me. about a 15-20 minute drive. I don't know of any others.

Barb-Congratulations to your family!! That is wonderful!

Oh no! I feel a sinus infection coming on! Off to bed early tonight I'm afraid!

I have to tell you about Turner's hockey game. He normally plays goalie but tonight Dad didn't bring his helmet. He did have his regular gear so he played offense tonight. In the championship game, he scored 2 GOALS!!!! I am so proud of him. His team is also going to be playing during intermission with our local minor league team on the 26th. He'll be in goal then!!! I'll take a picture or two to share with you all.

Julie is right. I AM trying to be super Mom again. Work has been tough. I got really used to sleeping alot while I was out. This morngn I don't even remember turning the alarm off and woke up about 5 minutes before we are supposed to be out the door!!! I do plan to come home tomorrow and Friday and rest after work.

I did get some recipes by email which is ok.....I don't know how Julie and I are going to get this together but we will figure something out.

I am now on my 3rd batch of cookies....Dick took his to work today and he said they were a big hit so am sending more Friday..his last day of work this year until we get back from our cruise.....

We are getting snow!! The ground is actually covered and it is cold. Just so it goes away by the 28th when we fly out...never satisfied am I...lol

We got our package today!! We are awfully curious...

I think we're a pretty even minded group here and wouldn't have become Ugly. I just remember the planning and sweetness of 4Nana and am so sorry that her experience had to even include an event at all. I'd be equally bummed for her if she'd slipped and fell and missed a day of cruising. That's all.

Guys, the translating doesn't take LONG, (it just fills up those pages). I thought the variations on each pass were interesting.

Julie, Re: 8 eastern, 6 Mountain..... That is fine with me, I can have Ben bring Katie in to join me for my dinner break and we'll get on-line from there. (Katie absolutelly wants to be there. Every time she opens the freezer she brings it up!)

Filed the report last night, easy. No problem. Then went furniture shopping. Yea! Didn't buy but I got Ted in the store to look. That was a great accomplishment by itself.
