Roll Call: March 14, 04 Disney Wonder

Hello to you all,

I would like to know if any of you are interested in a DIS meet?

Last year when we went on our first cruise, we unfortunately did not make the meet. (Combination of attending an activity as well as a bit if shyness..I am being honest with you all.)

Thinking back, I wish I had attended....It is always great meeting new people..especially ones you communicate with on-line.

So....I am volunteering..if anyone is interested then I will organize a meet onboard. We can all get together say..hello/bonjour..and then enjoy our cruise with a few new found friends that we can wave to each other in the hallways:):)

If you are not interested, that is fine as well..this by no means is to place pressure on any of you. Just a suggestion..since many of our fellow cruisers seem to enjoy meeting each other on the cruise.

I threw it out..let me know what your thoughts are:)

Have a gr8 week everyone...and imagine every day brings us that much closer to our holidays.

Vivian

Vivig - DisMeet sounds like a good idea to me!

Tross & Vivig - The age gap is getting a bit big, but I'm pretty sure the 5-7 y-o's are in the same group. I have a 5 1/2 y-o DS. Our only kid-neighbors are 7-8, so he's used to hangin' with the big guys!

I'm not sure who's more excited, me or the kids!

Yes I am. Thanks for organizing it Vivian.

By the way, when are you leaving for Orlando? I notice that you live in Richmond Hill. So we are both from Toronto.

Perhaps I will see you on the plane :)

Hi Vivian,
Count us in for a DIS get together, thanks for thinking of it. We're first timers and would love to say hello and thank you to all of you for your tips. My DS is 10 and would love a basketball budddy. My DD is also a basketball fan ( or any kind of sport).See you soon! Tracy :wave2:

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to know how meeting on the day we board March 14, 2004 @ 3pm sounds to you all? I verified past navigators and it seems the mandatory drill is at 4 pm..that can give us time to say 'hello' and meet each other and be at our drill boat stations in plenty of time.

We can meet at the Promenade lounge which is on the main floor. I will try to get the exact place to let you all know where it is located.

Let me know how this sounds? If you prefer we can think of another time and place....

Looking forward to meeting you all:):)

Hi Vivian,

3:00 pm sounds great to me.

We are planning to board the Ship at noon. Then we will have lunch at Parrot Cay while one of our big group members will go to make the Palo reservation. After that we will let the kids spend some time at the Mickey Pool.

I think by the time they finish swimming and have a shower, it's around 3:00 and I will be available to meet you guys face to face :)

Vivian, thanks for your hard work in gathering info and arranging our DIS meet!

(Still waiting for the docs....)

HI There,

We are planning the same thing...boarding/ going for lunch and then letting our son play in the Mickey pool.

Not hard work at all....this is fun!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: Can't wait to leave....

I sent an e-mail to our TA awaiting a response..as soon as I hear I will let you know.

Have gr8 evening,
Vivian

3pm is fine with us also but I am wondering if it gives us as much time as we think because my docs say embarkation time 1pm.

Like Little Twin Stars I thought we could board at 12pm. For those who have cruised before is this normal to allow boarding before the official time or am I just confused? Does everyone else's docs read the same? I noticed this on the cruise infomation card. It's about the 6th card in the book.

Count us in too. Tracy, my son is 10 and is excited to meet another 10 year old boy on the first day. He is a basketball nut! We follow the PC Friars (Big East team, we have season tickets). He also loves baseball. I have 2 DDs one is 14 one is 16. Are there any other teens coming?
Debbie

3:00 in the Promenade Lounge sounds good. Now, how will we know each other??

When we cruised last year, we had gone to the terminal really early to check in and we were onboard by 12:30 - !:00 pm. It gave us enought ime to have lunch, allow our son to swim in the pool and then get to go to our stateroom and settle in and be prepared for the Drill. I try to at my old navigator as well as the ones I find on-line to see if there is another convenient time..I will keep you all posted.

I will bring along a large Green Mickey Shaped Poster board to point out who we are....Any other suggestions would be great!! I know some groups would wear green Mickey shaped pins...Maybe having one large one will point out the location...open to all suggestions :):)

Thanks

Spoke with our TA today..could not resist to find out where our docs are??? She confirmed with Disney that they have been mailed out..so we should be receiving them soon:confused:

Wow, how I wish I could get them by FRI so we will have the weekend to go thru them.

Can't wait to find out the staterooms we are assigned

Sounds good to me! Thanks for organizing, Vivig. I think some of us may run into each other before then. We also planned on boarding ASAP, getting Palo and spa ressies, lunch & a swim before the drill. I think we've all read the same hints on these boards! Here is what we look like

debaudrn - We live pretty close to you. Southeast CT (land of casinos!). DH works in New London.

LOOK AT OUR COUNTDOWN!!!!!!

What a creative homepage for your family!

See if I can recognise you.

We may bump into each other while rushing for Palo reservation, fighting to be the 1st in line to board... (just kidding).

Just received our documents this afternoon for March 14th Wonder. It's great to finally have some info on the cruise. I have two daughters looking for friends on the cruise. AV 15 and AF 9.

Sounds good to me I will try to convince my DW to go. We tend to stay to ourselves, but I think meeting fellow disney nuts is a great idea. I will try to make the meet. I will tell DS 11 that there will be several other kids around his age coming. If they want to PM him he goes by lilparrothead on these boards. Anybody else going to spend time at the world before or after the cruise?:smooth:

We are...
Fly in Fri. evening, staying at POR & going to the parks Sat. Then when we return we are staying at CBR & going to the parks Thurs-Fri-Sat before flying home Sat. evening.

Parrothead365 - I hope you make it to the Dis meet. We are looking forward to meeting fellow Parrotheads. We're big fans - the first dance at our wedding reception was a Buffett song (Survive - it fit because he is in the military). Can't wait for those boat drinks!

Little Twin Stars - I'm glad you like my site. Got Docs??

My DH thinks I spend way too much time here (I guess he has a point). He thinks he and the kids should wear "sk8ingmom DH" & "sk8ingmom DS" name tags around the ship!
