Roll Call for the Disney Magic Western Carrib. Jan 28/2006

A bomb just dropped on the live trip report 12/3/05 board that they have been changed from Nassau to Costa Maya. They found out at embarkation. DH thought I was going crazy when I went for the phone to call DCL so fast. And guess what, the DCL rep had no idea it happened. The girl put me on hold 2x, trying to get information. The answer I got was that "At this time there is no plan to change any of the ports already booked." But I was told I can call as often as I want to see if ours has changed. If she didn't know till I called, the day after the 12/3 sailing, then how will she know when I call before I leave?

were on the jan 28th cruise , me 49, dd 22, d s-i-l 21, and dgs 2 its our 4th cruise, but everyone is in a different month so its a different experience every time, planning on going to spa a few times, does anyone know now that were going to nasssau, if they will have a ladies nite at the spa like they do on the wonder?

I didn't know that there was a ladies night. Interesting...hmmmmm....

I will be putting in an order for bracelets if you are interested...there is a post from 12/2 has the info...

As for going to Nassau, the folks on the 12/3 Western got a surprise and are now going to Costa Maya instead. I called DCL and the rep wasn't aware of the change...

Wow, first winter storm of the season expected today in my area. We might get up to 7". My kids are doing this... My DH is doing this and singing "Let it sonw"...I on the other hand feel more like this Too funny....

I don't know Sue. My kids are now so looking forward to going to Atlantis...I might have a mutiny!

Now I'm checking into Costa Maya excursions again......Disney really is keeping me hopping about this cruise!

Anyone else with a catchy phrase for the wristbands? So far there are 2 votes for "MAGICal Cruise 1/28/06".

The cutoff for orders will be 12/26. Since the turn around time is 2 weeks from the company, and I want to make sure I can mail them to everyone in time.

So, if you are interested bracelets, PM me with how many you want of each size.

Costa Maya !!!! ohhhhhhhhh I sooooooooooooooo hope we go there instead of Nassau.... ( keeping fingers crossed )

a meet sounds great but we are always the last ones on the ship.. we spend the day in disney until we have like 30 minutes left before the ship leaves without us.. maybe we can do a later meet or a second meet for all of us unorganized people...

bracelets sound really nice... I will see if hubby is willing to wear 1.. maybe we can get a special color for our kids so they know each other too.. or just the green will do and we can inform them what it means.. as for the logo can you get "dis" in there somewhere?? DisMagicalCruise 1/28/06 or something??

does anyone know, can we reserve like a meetig area or room on the ship?? if we have enough people maybe they will give us 30 minutes or someting..

Nassau vs Costa Maya. 3 of my friends want Nassau, 2 Costa Maya and 1 I don't care! Looks like it will be a great cruise no matter what!!!!!

The company will do both sides of the band for the same price, but each side has a limit of 25 total, characters and spaces...

MAGICal Cruise 1/28/06 on one side? Something DIS on the other? Or DIS-MAGICal Cruise on one side, and the date on the other? Any other ideas?

As for the meet, it can be whenever is the best time for everyone. I was going by what I have read on the other meets. If I was at the World though, I would be missing the meet too!

School in Howard County is starting late. We only got 4" here. Sunny now and everything is melting.

Hi dobelover,

I'm the next county over from you (Anne Arundel, by Arundel Mills). Our kids were sent home 2 hours early yesterday when the snow really hadn't started and then had the delay this morning. I guess at least it wasn't a snow day.

I'm still working on whether we'll be going on the Jan 28th cruise or not. DH just called DVC and was initally told all cruises would be going to Nassau, but when he pressed them (I.E. current Western Cruise was told on embarkation they were going to Costa Maya), the representative said that the 31 Dec and 28 Jan Western Caribbean Cruises would be going to Nassau, while the 17 Dec and 14 Jan cruises will be going to Costa Maya.

So bummer for us, we would have preferred Costa Maya to Nassau, but we still don't have reservations at the moment. I keep checking though and there are still spaces avaiable. If we get to go, we'll have me, DH, DD (10), DS (6), and DD (will turn 3 Jan 22 ).

I think my brain is frozen. I think the other thread was for the cruise on the 21st. Must be too many Girl Scout cookies!

It's looking more positive for us on the cruise. Anyone else going with kids ages similar to mine? DD 10 years, DS 6 years, and DD will turn 3 five days before this cruise.

well my travel agent is going to have the Birthday Decorations ready in our room to surprise DH.. we leave on his b-day, then my b-day 4 days later !!
for everyone !!!!

ok for all you newbies and possible newbies...

we are a party of 3.. dh, myself and ds (15)
we are being joined by 2 other parties
a couple with no children
and a couple with 2 boys 3 and 5

None of us have ever done the 7 night DCL before.. we have done the 3 nights alot on the wonder.. our other parties also have not been on DCL at all..

can't wait !!!

oh and lots of white here too 4 inches I think with delayed school openeings of 90 minutes..

ANOTHER winter storm? They are saying this one will be worse than the last one (how hard will that be...the last one was nuttin ). Kids are already getting ready for the snow day...

Was at Mike's today, and got some lime green fur yarn...yup, gonna make me a lime green boa to go with my lime green bracelet...Won't my boarding pic just be so "el-e-gant"? Hope my family will stand with me...
