Morning All - At 6am we had 4" but the past hour it was a mix of sleet and snow. Down to 2.5" deep.

We're also taking the Jan 28th Western Caribbean cruise! A few messages ago on this thread GSCM_DisneyScout kindly posted the change of ports from Cozumel to Nassau for this cruise.

I checked for this information on the Disney Cruise web site and could not find any mention of this change. I called them and confirmed that for the moment Cozumel is still the planned port, but may change at any time to Costa Maya or Nassau.

My impression is they just haven't released the January schedule yet but it's not likely to include Cozumel.

I for one hope it's Costa Maya.

Hi DavidPJ,

If you go to the DCL website, there is an alert on the "Ports of Call" page under "Important Information If you are sailing on an upcoming 7-night Western Caribbean cruise, please view important information". It is right below where the pictures load, and it does list the change of itineraries. The "Live Cruise Report" for the 12/3 cruise stated that they were informed of their change from Nassau to Costa Maya at embarkation. When I called last Sunday (after reading that post), the rep I spoke with said that we were going to Nassau. She also had no idea that the 12/3 cruise was going to Costa Maya, and had to put me on hold 2x to get information on the change. So I don't have too much hope that they will know anything about our cruise either.

When I check my reservation, it shows the new Western/ Eastern Itinerary. I also got a call from DCL telling me that my Palo ressies were changed because the "Day at Sea" was changed. At this time, I think we are going to Nassau...but we have to see what happens with the 12/31 cruise. Interesting factoid...the Cruise Calendar for Costa Maya lists Disney Magic in port along with Carnival Glory and Explorer of the Seas. Not sure how accurate this site is though.

Just a reminder that I am taking orders for wristbands. The details on post #239. Please PM me with your sizes. I am taking orders till 12/26/05. (and yes I am forcing my family to wear them... :rotfl2: )

Any other ideas for the slogan? So far we have MAGICal Cruise 1/28/06, or DIS-MAGICal Cruise on one side and 1/28/06 on the other side. Any other ideas?

DH just made our ressies through DVC. We're GOING! Hooray!

When I log into my reservaction on the Cruiseline website. It says:

Day 1 Port Canaveral
Day 2 Key West
Day 3 At Sea
Day 4 Grand Cayman
Day 5 At Sea
Day 6 Nassau
Day 7 Castaway Cay
Day 8 Port Canaveral

It'll be me, DH, DD (10), DS (6), and DD (3) with DD 3 B-day party first night! :thewave:
:Pinkbounc:
:thewave: Five of US!

First time Disney cruise for everyone. First overnight pleasure cruise for everyone!

:cheer2:

Now I gotta look into pirate night pirate: and excursions!

Kim

P.S. My 2 soon to be 3 yo wants this one -> :rolleyes1 and that one -> :earboy2: and on and on... :earsgirl:

WooHoo! Congrats on the ressies! :cool1:

We also have a bday party in our group, DS 13 turning 14 on 2/6/06. Not sure what day we will be doing the bday celebrating yet. Last cruise, the room steward had the room decorated when we got back from dinner. There were streamers, balloons, and every kind of towel animal you can imagine all over the room...DS was thrilled! It will be really hard to top that one! :bday:

Thanks ddavis860, I found the web notice. Funny that the DCL rep on the phone didn't have this information.

Okay, I just finished reading through all 18 pages of messages. I see LOTS of mention of boys and LOTS of mention of them being around the 9-11 age range. Doesn't ANYONE have a girl going that I can try to hook up my boy crazy :worship: DD10 with? :worried: Also seems like lots of teens! Miss DD10 already thinks she's a teenager too. :smooth: Maybe if I can convince all the teen boys to hide in the teen room... :teleport:

Any suggestions for 3 year olds? princess: DD will turn 3 six days before the trip.

What are some good family excursions?

Take care!

:thewave:

Sorry Kim, 2 boys here. Not much chance of my 13yr old staying in the teens room either, he loves the Mickey Slide... :earsboy:

I'm not much help with the excursions for a 3yr old. Last time we were at Nassau we did the Atlantis Beach Day, and that was a fun...You might like that one. I've never been to Grand Cayman, so can't help with that one. We are not booking with Disney this cruise, but went with a private company recommended on another cruise board.

Good Morning - My 8yo nephew and 5yo niece are here. Schools were closed yesterday and my sis needed child care. So I said bring 'em over. Not sure when they are going home, we are having too much fun.

My hair was standing straight up when they were handling my Disney ornaments. And then leaning against the window to hang something or check how it looks. Thank goodness all ended well. They got picked up 50 hours later, after eating the freezer clean, all the eggs, ice cream and sledding twice a day! Even my dog is tired!!!!!!!!

Morning All - I made our reservations for the night b4 the cruise at Ron Jon Resort. It is $250 for a 2br. That is way over budget for us but we are splitting it 4 ways and I think we need a good nights sleep after the auto train. Plus we can walk to the jetty Saturday am and watch Magic come in. That is something I have wanted to do for years! I can't think of any other reservations, kennel for Sam, ship, hotel, auto train, neighbor to take care of cats and mail.........

Sue

Wow Sue,

Have you (and the dog) recovered from your 50 hrs of fun with the kids yet?

That will be really cool to see the Magic dock. :goodvibes I never thought of doing that, but it really is a great idea. My DH would love it too, he is a avid boater and fisherman, and always loves to see the way the dock lines(chains) are handled on these BIG SHIPS! You will have to tell us all how you like the resort too.

We will be driving over from the gulf side of FL, and with the way my kids like to sleep in, we will be lucky to be at the ship by noon...I am serious, these are boys who would rather sleep in :faint: :faint: than go to the parks at Disney World in the morning :confused3 . I was dragging them out of bed! Sheesh, I should have just left them there and gone myself... :teeth:

Funny thing is I miss them. I have already spoken with my sis to have them over the holidays. I think Sam (the dog) even had fun. I have a digital camera so I can share shots of the Magic. It will have to be a cd since I don't have a web site and I use dial up, too slow to send pix via email usually. And I did remember something else, a small flower arrangement for the stateroom. I will call Shirley after the holidays. It is my sister's bday (not the kids Mom, I have 3 sisters) on the 28th.

Kim-

I am traveling with a 9 year old DD :cheer2: (she will be 10 on 2/6) - We are from Ohio by way of Ft. Meade, MD. - small world :flower:
