Roll call for 10/29/09 3 night Bahamian - General chit chat

Cat. 8's and 9's were removed from the website today. I'm guessing they're doing the GTY assignments. Crossing fingers for tomorrow!!:cool1:

Hi all, I booked the PC cruise this morning now all I have to do is convince my husband that $6,000 really isn't that much for a 2 week cruise.:rotfl2: we'll see how he takes the news. Did anyone else book for this cruise or any other ones today?

I did the Panama Canal cruise on the Magic twice, in 2005 and 2008 and it was great!!! both times. It was so nice to have a long vacation and disney did lot of special dinners, shows, and speakers on the cruise. I am glad that I did it when I did because the prices I saw today are double what I paid in 2005 for a family of 4 and at least 50% more than 2008.

Just checked DCL website and still no stateroom assignment - I am getting twitchy now, c'mon Disney :cheer2:

Well, we finally got our assignments - Cat 9, SR #'s 2544 and 2546 :cool1::cool1:

Not a bad upgrade from a Cat 12 - we're pretty happy with that, in fact DD2 is even more excited now, if that were possible :rotfl:

We just checked our reservations. We are in room 5508, the website still has us cat 11, but when I look at the map that is a cat 8. Can anyone explain this. Have they just got the cat wrong? I am so confused.

Angie, the reservation will show what you have booked but the SR# is the category you've been assigned. Congrats on getting a Cat 8 :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am excited. My friends that are cruising got upgraded to a 9 as well. I am getting very EXCITED!!!!!(did I mention that I was excited?)........

We are getting so excited too - I just checked our friends' reservation (they are on the same cruise) and they have been upgraded to a Cat 8 also :cool1:

Oh how I wish I could do this cruise. But DH can not get off work for that many days. I am still working on him. He said that I could go by myself, but that would not be fun. We were thinking about the Alaska cruise in July, (I think)

I really want to do the PC cruise too, Angie, but we have difficulty because it is right after Christmas holidays here in the UK and we couldn't have that much time off work.

Well, it sounds like you all got alot of great upgrades! :thumbsup2 (that's me green with envy, but still happy for you!) I do like the location of my room so I don't think I'd upgrade even if they offered unless it was a really good one. I just wish I'd paid for a gty room instead of cat. 11. I'm smarter now and have a gty room for the PC cruise. Not sure if I'm going to keep my ressie because I checked RC's prices (oh the shame, a different cruise line) and found out that basically the same cruise is only $2,400 instead of $6,000. That's alot of excursions (or fruity drinks) if I forgo the Disney. hhhmmm what to do?

Have you actually checked your ressie on DCL website? Our friends had paid for a Cat 11 (not GTY) but still got upgraded to a Cat 8 :)
