Roll call for 10/29/09 3 night Bahamian - General chit chat

I see the thread is in summer mode.:goodvibes

We can't wait for this trip.
We get to see old cruise friends before the cruise.
Hopefully we will get to make new friends on the cruise.
But, we don't want the summer to pass to fast.:sad2:

Everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend.

I had to fill some time up before the cruise so my DH was sweet enough to make us ressies for a beautiful Savannah GA B&B for the 4th of July weekend. How could is that?

I think I will start working on my door decor soon. I love Halloween, so I am pumped!

DH and I have been talking about maybe skipping the dining rooms altogether in favor of watching the shows at our leisure, eating other things, like the buffet or even room service. On our 7 day we were soooo full from dinner all the time we only had 2 meals a day, and we missed out on the pirate night buffet and lunch offerings.

Also it is just a 3 day, so we want to explore the ship and enjoy it before it leaves for the West Coast. What do you guys think?

I LOVE Savannah!! It is one of my favorite cities, and being in GA, it's not a long drive. Have you ever been? It's reallly beautiful and charming. Have a BLAST!!

I've been working on my magnets for a while now. I'm going to use a lot of them from our previous cruise, but have been making more (and some with Halloween themes).

We are going to skip AP this time I think and do Palo on that night if we can arrange it. Last time our Palo night was on PC night, so we kind of want to do PC this time.

We just booked a 4 night Wonder for Oct 25, so we will be doing B2B cruises...so I hope that will give us a little extra time to enjoy the ship and see the shows and stuff at our leisure, so I totally understand you wanting to do that...I've been told on the boards, that on B2B cruises we get to get back on the boat after we check in, so I hope to be back on by 10ish to get some photos and stuff before the boat gets crowded and just kind of explore the boat while it's quite. Has anyone ever done this b-4?

The weather is great that time of year in Savannah. I also recall Octoberfest celebrations occurring while I was working there about 10 years ago. The atmosphere is really fun at events like that. That is a great pre-vacation vacation idea! :rotfl:

I am definately using magnets from my last cruise, too. I am also trying to come up with ideas for FE gifts. I don't want to rush around last minute - it takes the bargain-hunting fun out of shopping. I know we aren't going to finalize headcount until September, but I LOVE to plan! I know... so sad. :confused3

Girl...it's not sad...I've already bought over 1/2 of my FE stuff...I can't finalize and split stuff up until we know how and if we are going to split it, but I've got an excellent start!!:banana: I can't finish the things I'm making until I get a little more info, but I've got the stuff and started.

yea speaking of FE stuff how many things of 1 item r you guys buying? im trying to decide if i should shop now? would 15 be a safe number ? its so hard to decide whats the deadline for sign ups anyways i forgot LOL

It's a tough call I guess until we decide if we are splitting it, or doing everyone on one exchange. I've just been buying stuff b/c we are doing B2B cruises on this one + have one booked for Sept of next year. I've just started "packing stuff away". I would like to get an idea of what we are going to do so I can get started on the gifts I'm making, but can do anything extra after the cut off if more decide to join in on the fun. I think 15-20 would be safe.

Have a great weekend!!

Good evening.
Long time no post for me.

No running for me. It is vacation o.k.?:goodvibes

Savannah. It is a great place to visit.
We stayed at Disney HH back in 2005.
Took a day trip there. It was wonderful.

Fish Extender gifts.
Seems like the cruises I have been on, and we were on the first FE cruise, the gifts seem to be per cabin.

Here's what ours looked like from the 05 Panama and Med repo cruises.

Have a great week.

love thos FEs how did you get the big mickeys? the wheels in my head r spinning since I will be making my own again this year....im a quilter im thinking of running off our cruise logo once it is decided and applying it to the FE on the special fabric paper they have
cant wait !!!!!

That's the number I am working with, too. :cool1:

I figure that range covers the current number of Dis'ers signed up for the exchange, and if more get onboard and we don't split it up, the gifts really do not have to be the same for everyone. It's for fun - that's my goal. Most of ours, I'm guessing.

I totally agree, the idea is for it to be fun. I have to say, I am getting a tad nervous about the middle of September date we agreed for closing the sign-ups for FE gifts but only because, on a personal level, I have so much on my plate, I am worried about trying to get gifts prepared/bought in just the 4 weeks we will have before we fly out on 19th October.

Still, I am very excited about the cruise so that is cancelling out any nervousness about gifts (or lack of them ;)) I can't believe it's only 148 days :thumbsup2

I'm all for moving it up a little too if anyone else wants too...like I posted previously, I am personalizing a few of the gifts and need time to get the info and get them made. I can always add a few more if more want to join in, but if I could get an early start it would be awesome!

love thos FEs how did you get the big mickeys?

Since I assume that you are asking me, here's my answer......

The fish extenders were a gift (twice, as mentioned above) from the originator of the FE, EpcotKilterFan. She ran across them at a discount store of some sort in Ohio. I believe that she bought all the store had and provided them as a sail away gift. (we did that too). Thanks Debbie:worship:

On that first cruise, the Panama Westbound Repo, was another first,

The Grass Skirt Fraternity.:lmao:

Hi, I figured out my room for the FE. It's room 7541 There's 2 adults, one DS Jake-8 and one DD Amber-12 in our room. What happens with the FE if we get an upgrade at the port? Also, does anyone know if there is a costume contest or party on this cruise?

I also wondered if we could move up the FE exchange cut-off date, too, but I figured the FEE participants with the GTY rooms or upgrades don't get to find out until 2-4 weeks before we sail, so we couldn't split rooms until then anyway. We could decide now not to split up the FE exchange at all and then we could move the date up to give us all more time. I am on the fence about my preference... I would like to be in an FE exchange with everyone on the thread - it's been fun getting to know everyone - but I don't want this to become a chore for us all... any thoughts? :confused3

If upgrades occur at the port, then could you notify your fellow FE exchange participants at the Meet 'n Greet we are planning? Nothing like a good grapevine to get the word out. :grouphug:

The iternaries found on-line from three previous Halloween cruises included trick-or-treating and costume contests, so I assume we will also have those on our cruise. You can count me out for the contests, but I AM trying to think of a fun trick or treating sack to make... not that I'll be hungry by Saturday night. :rotfl2:

148 days?!?! That far away? *sigh* :sad2:

Just got home from work... it was a long day :scared1:

Can't believe it is still soooo far from the cruise!
The FE Exchange sounds like fun, but I can already tell I'd sooo forget or procrastinate :lmao:

I am on call during June, it is the less favorite part of my job, but thinking of the trip to Savannah on July, then Expedition Everest 5K on Sept and finally the cruise in Oct helps the medicine go down. :thumbsup2

Did we ever decide on an "official" name for the cruise?

Im up for moving the FE deadline date too LOL so lets decide should we do it and if so WHEN ? If we have a definate number then we can always say yes later to any late comers if everyone agrees and those who dont dont have to have the late comers drop stuff in their FEs does that make sense???? Also YES costume contest i went on halloween cruise last year and there was a contest and trick or treating for all ..... If you get upgraded at the port when we meet n greet we can tell everyone and those who dont meet n greet but got the upgrade on the last cruise i did just dropped a note in everyones FE to let them know the room change or they called everyones room and left a messg and said hey we moved .... we will figure it out im sure
Cant wait to meet everyone!!!!
how bout we have a little fun and in the next few days if you get a chance write a little blurb to introduce yourselves /family here ill start LOL
