The Halloween Party is at the Magic Kingdom. It is a separate ticket event. We have been to 3. We LOVE it. I hope we still love it, since Ashley is older BUT I guess this time she will be more interested in rides than in characters. The characters dress up in costumes, they give candy out. Most of the attractions are open. They have a special fireworks, (amazing) 360º around the entire park. The wicked queen starts the fireworks instead of Tinkerbell. A special parade, with different floats. This is one of my favorite things to do at WDW. Hope this helps, you can find more info on wdwig.com.

what are you talking about mom? ill be all over those characters! hehe.:woohoo:

The thread's clip art files can be found in this folder:

http://home.earthlink.net/~runskyhy/hallowonder/

I was at it again this week... There are 32 additional clip art GIF files in the above folder. Again, there is also a GIF file in the folder labeled 'summary2.gif'. This is a quick screendump of the new clipart with their file names (in red). It'll help you locate specific clip art instead of looking through the whole folder to find one.

We have done 1900 Park Fair, Chef Mickeys and one at Old Key West (a very long time ago).

I LOVE:love: 1900 Park Fair. I enjoy Chef Mickeys, but for me, it is too busy. The characters are different for each one. 1900 PF has Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Eeyore, Pooh, Tigger. Chef Mickeys has the the classic Characters, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale. The food is about the same. Buffet style at both. Usual breakfast food, but massive amounts of it. A good variety at both.

I do not know about the one at Old Key West because it has been so long, it may have changed.

Hope this helps. Have a good day.

The poll for group name is still open as far as I'm aware but it's looking like Hallowonder is the favourite at the moment :thumbsup2

Hi hi!
Man its been a busy month... or couple of months.
When is October again? :lmao:

Got up early today to train, I haven't run in a while and I really need to get on the ball for the Everest 5K or I won't be able to beat my time from last year.
Work has been keeping me more than busy, but things are starting to head towards a small reprieve on the sea of things to do.

Now... I need some breakfast!:rotfl2:

I'm thinking of doing the ToT 5k in October, any tips?!!

I'm thinking of doing the ToT 5k in October, any tips?!!

I start with the Couch to 5K program: LINK HERE
Watch yourself, don't push too hard, you have plenty of time for ToT if you start training now.

Last year I made a lot of mistakes since it was my first race. I obsessed over the 15 min mile pacing, I ran myself ragged until I injured my shins (I get bad shin splints), instead of pacing myself I pushed and pushed to run when I am really not built for it, I am still way too big and my feet are waaaay too flat, I am a swimmer afterall.

I learned to take my time training, not give up, let my body heal properly and that I rock at fast walking. I can do the 15 min mile easy walking when I struggle with it running.

The 5K race was a blast! And the scavenger hunt was a hoot, DH and I made it as a team and he is way faster and waaaay better shape than me, so he cheered me up and helped me tons with moral support.

This morning I did the first work out of the training plan and it was way easier than I had anticipated. I can run way better in the morning than the afternoon for some reason, so I feel very happy and accomplished and my day just started. :thumbsup2

I am pondering the ToT 5K as well, I will make up my mind soon and see if I am up for it and the budget allows it. Sounds like fun!

meryll83 and ChocoKat, Are you considering the Castaway Cay 5K on the cruise on Saturday? I ran it in March - it's really informal, but fun.

I think one 5k run on holiday is enough for me! :rotfl2:

Is the CC 5k just a free excursion that you turn up to on the day?

This will be our first cruise, and with it being a short one and at the end of our holiday for our honeymoon, I think we'll want to relax a bit more. Don't get me wrong, we won't be sat on the beach all day, we can't, we'll get bored, but I think we'll book something less strenuous like the cycle/snorkel/ring hire package, and do things at our own pace.

I'm not really a runner (I'll be checking out the couch to 5k plan!!), but as we've been to WDW a few times now, we thought the ToT 5k was something unique, whereas we're newbie cruisers, so probably don't need to find as much to do to be kept happy!:thumbsup2

I think we will do it this time. We skipped it on our first cruise, but this time around I think we will be up for it!:thumbsup2
