Roll Call - April 3, 2004 Eastern Magic!

Hi Monchichi

Great list! Thanks! We're late setting and DS is 6.

Dc consider yourself lucky. We're suppose to get 5-9 inches of snow today. We'll end up with 9+ inches. Ugh! Our snow piles only melted this past week. Kids will probably have a delay or closure tomorrow. We already have 6 snowdays. This vacation can't come soon enough.

Mon and Silly
Since Kate got out of school early today, she will have time this afternoon to email the girls.

Pocono

DCbrown, I'm with you, where is the sun and the rum???
It snowed about 4 inches here today and then turned to pelting sleet. Drive home was awful, cars all over the place!!! The only thing I want to see spinning is the blender!!!!
18 days!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Trekker, have a question for you. When you land at Orlando and you go to baggage claim to the DCL booth, do you have to find your luggage and drag it there to get on the bus, or do they find it for you and take it when they get it, so that the next time you see it is on the boat?

I do not use DCL transfers - but my understanding is that you will not touch your bags until you get on the ship

Does anyone know how big a towncar's trunk is? I'm trying to figure out if our luggage is going to fit. I don't think we are big packers (had 2 big suitcases, 1 duffle and 2 garment bags last
time - hoping to cut down this time). What do you think? Should I go for a limo instead?

There are four of us traveling last year Fl. Tours picked us up at the airport with the towncar. We almost did not get all our luggage in. For the rest of our legs of transportation Andy brought the luxury van. We had 5 lg checked bags and 4 sm carry ons.

Checkout the counter - only 17 days to go - less than 15 days and we will on our way to the Dolphin!

eyoreaud,

My dd11 would love to meet your dd12........it would thrill her to death to meet some one from Scotland...we are travelling to the UK this summer and although thats not Scotland, she would apreciate some insight from a girl her age that lives closer than she does.

Bring on the spinning blenders!!! I am packed and ready to Go!!

Hello everyone!

How's packing going?

Trekker - thank you so much for the info on the town car. I just called and upgraded to a limo to be safe (and to surprise the family)!

Monchichi - Great List - Thanks! We have early seating.

Just spoke with Shirley from the Perfect Gift to order some gifts for the kids. Nice lady! Can't wait to see the kids faces when they see the gifts from Mickey and Minnie!

UMTerp, I also ordered a basket from Shirley for my DD. She is so nice on the phone. I can't wait to see my DD's face when she sees all the stuff (and the card). Have you started packing already. I might just start this weekend. I've decided to bring all my dry cleaning on the boat and let them do it. Why do it here (more expensive at home believe it or not), and bring it there to be pressed again. Let them do it all!

Hi Trekker,

13 days and we're off to All Star Movies. Can't wait. We got 6+inches of snow yesterday. YUCK! We'll watch for your Alien Green Mickeys while in the parks. See at Scuttles, at 3:00.

:( It started like allergies but I had the chills last night, and from there it just wasn't a good day. I hope I get over it with out giving it to anyone else before the trip.:(
I am all done shopping now, I just have to pack.
Thanks Trekker for the info, and anyone else that added to the list.
Talk to everyone soon:wave:

Monchichi

Sorry to here about the cold - you have a couple weeks to get rid of it - just make sure no one else in the family gets it!

Hi everyone! Can't believe that it's getting so close!

sillysmom - haven't really started packing, just getting out the summer clothes are starting to sort things. Had my DD try on lots of stuff last night to make sure things still fit/new things fit. What a great idea about the dry cleaning! It's less expensive on the ship? Imagine that!

poconoboatniks - less than two weeks for you - Hooray!

monchichi - so sorry to hear about the cold - hope you recover fast!

Hey Trekker, I was just looking back at some of your more recent posts on this thread, you last said "Don't forget 3:00 p.m. Scuttles 4/3". I thought the meet was going to be at scoops? Isn't Scuttles on CC? Just let me know, don't want to miss anything.

Hi all just countin the days (they're going real slow aren't they?)

Pocono, is Kate planning on emailing? If she's shy I'll make Gina do it first!

Matthewsmom, can't wait to meet you and Matthew

Monchichi, Steph, feel like I know you already. Can't wait to see you in person. ALL THIS TIME (LOL) but I've never asked you what your DIS name meant!

UMTerp, What kind of basket did you order from Shirley? She sure put lots of stuff in a basket and at a very reasonable price. Isn't she so sweet on the phone?

Talk to you all soon, Linda

Here is a Monchichi!
Monchichi's were those cute monkeys in the 80's that sucked on their thumbs and had a cute song "Monchichi, Monchichi, oh so soft and cuddly. Put the thumb in it's mouth is really neat, nice to wiggle their little feet. La, lala,la lala happy happy monchichi" or something like that. I just use to be really into monkeys and they were so cute.
I call Taylor my Monchichi too.
I am going to the NW Women's Show tomorrow. I hope to get lots of free stuff. (It's like a big fair, but just for Women)
Time is going by so slowly

Hi Everyone!!
Oh, here I sit again watching the snow fall fast and furiously!! Yet another snow day!!! My spring break is now incredibly short and I am sure to hear the lecture about taking time off from work for a "simple vacation". Oh my!! Looks like I'll have to take the days off without pay!! But I DON'T CARE:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc because I'll be sitting on a lounge chair, drinking a margarita and reading a good book!!
Anyone else getting this storm?
I'm ordering a basket for Matthew today. Poor Matthew, his cat had to be put to sleep on Wednesday. She had cancer. She was only 5 years old. Her name was Sazou (Lion King)and she was the sweetest cat ever. I was up all night crying. My heart hurts, not only for the loss of her but for the ache I see in my Matthew's eyes. My poor boy, been through so much for only being 10.
I think I'll start getting together our things today as I am stuck inside. Maybe if I see summer clothes it will feel warmer??
Wishing you all a great Friday!
I have my green bag and green pass holder!!!
Jane:teeth:

 Hi DCBrown:wave:

My DD would love to meet your DD aboard ship!:Pinkbounc
She's quite shy and i was a bit worried there'd be no kids her age there:D I hope you enjoy your trip to the UK:) Where are you going? if we've been there we could maybe give you some info.:)

We're going to pack this weekend as we're flying out on Wed 24th to London Gatwick and flying to the land of the mouse on Thurs 25th!

How excited are we?:jumping1:

See y'all real soon! :Pinkbounc

Luv Audrey,

Hi all,

Yet another great day for packing...more snow and no school! We have not had our spring break interupted.....but we have been told that if there is another it will.

Audrey.....My Emilie is shy at first but somewhat of a power house once you get her going! She needs to have the "ice broken" if you know what I mean. She has aked if your daughter speaks "english" and if she will be wearing plaid?? I am sorry but she needs to be educated about the world around her and the people in it. Exactly why we are venturing off to Europe this summer.

We will be going to Sussex, then Leicesthire(Barnsdale Country Club) then ending in London. We are going to fly into Gatwick although I did not book it yet. I used to work for an Airline (People Express) and flew into Gatwick weekly....so I know it best.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing that glorious SUN:sunny:

 Hi All have recieved all our tickets now, so it's all systems go wow!

DCBrown, Yes DD(Jade-Kareen) does speak English::yes:: , or rather our own Scottish version of it LOL;)

And, no she will not be wearing the Tartan(plaid) or carrying any hairy haggises(sp) on board, he he!
DH(William, will however be wearing his kilt and all the trimmings for the formal night) minus his Skeandhu which is a sort of fancy dagger for wearing tucked into one of the sox as it's not allowed, even if it is just a costume prop :( although i can understand this rule totaly.

See you all soon,
Luv Audrey,
xxxxxxxxxx:grouphug:

sillysmom - I ordered the sand bucket, sand molds, and snacks for DD (6). I ordered a message in a bottle (to send off in the ocean), Harry Potter trading cards, Mickey playing cards, and snacks for DS (9). They are going to be "from" Mickey and Minnie instead of mom & dad.

Matthewsmom - So sorry to hear about the cat! Just what you all needed after everything you've been through recently!

All of you northerners - So, so sorry to hear that you are getting more of the white stuff. We just missed it (again)!
The day we leave is going to be a school day (the Fri before) due to too many missed days. Oh well, my kids will have to miss one day!

HI Sillysmom & Monchichi

Kate and I wondering what monchichi meant. Thanks. He's a cutie.
My dh had to explain why he chose boatniks for our screen name.

Kate emailed the girls last evening, however, the email to Taylor was kicked back. I'll try again this morning.

I was checking out the scrapbooking section of the disboards last evening and found a great place to buy Disney paper, borders and alphabets. I haven't done much scrapping yet, but I want to start with this year's cruise album.

2 weeks and counting!!!!!!!!

Anyone else excited????
:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Pocono

PS Monchichi take care of that cold. We got to meet the doctors onboard last year. DS had a sinus infection which went into his tear ducts. He had nasty stuff coming out of his eyes. POOR GUY!

Hi Pocono, Gina received Kates email and picture, she is very cute! She will probably email her Sunday evening, she is sleeping over her grandparents house so my DH and I can finish up the cruise shopping.

UMTerp, that basket sounds cool. I got the disney towel, sunglasses, candy bars, chips (and the like), soda, juice boxes and I also sent it from Mickey and Minnie. She sure puts alot o stuff in those baskets No? Did you ever have the folks on this board send your kids the postcard? It is so great, Gina loved it!

Matthewsmom, so sorry to hear about your cat. Hopefully the fun Matthew will have on the cruise will take his mind off that a little. Hopefully you can kick back a little too, you certainly need it.

Monchichi, what can I say? I'll catch you on line later. Gina wants to call Tayor tomorrow night too. I'll let her try if its not too late.

Trekker, please let me know about the meet, is it scuttles (where is that?) or scoops?

Eyoraud & dcbrown, look forward to meeting you as well.

Last night I was tossing and turning all night. Everytime I woke up I realized I was dreaming about the cruise. I have to lighten up a little, I want everything to be so perfect and organized. I'm going to need a couple of drinks with you all so that I can just kick back and relax.

Hopefully yesterday was the last of the snow for us, I JUST CAN NOT TAKE ANY MORE OF THE STUFF.

Again, look forward to meeting ALL of you in person.

Linda

Sorry to hear you all have Snow
It will be really nice for you to leave it all behind and get in the sun:sunny:
So, how many of you spent as much or more getting ready for this trip, as you are going to spend ON this trip? ::yes::  ::yes::
I am feeling better, but my DD now has a cold :( I think she will get over it in time.
My son had his basketball playoff game and his team came in 2nd out of 30 teams :hyper: He was really happy:bounce:
poconoboatniks: I sent you a PM, when you e-mail me I will send a pic back of us. :wave2:
Sillysmom: Gina can call anytime Sunday. Taylor is not going to school on Monday, I have to get her finger checked out, someone told me it looks like a staff infection, plus she has a cold.
Ok, Talk to everyone soon.
