ROL preview vs my expectations.

I was directed to this video today by a friend.

Has everyone seen this? I was one of the people that checked countless times at midnight and 6 AM and throughout the day trying to snag a dinner package or FP+ for our 5/8 AK day. At this point I am just shaking my head. This looks so tremendously dull.

Am I the only one who was anticipating more? I was really, really expecting something more WoC or Illuminations... At this point I don't care that we won't be seeing this in a few weeks.

Don't watch it. Very small segment.

While there were visually beautiful parts ... WAY TOO MUCH is missing and the connectivity was not there.

I saw the potential ...... but kinda wished I hadn't watched and rather been WOWED by a full show.

No way I am watching that video. I like to be surprised. No point of going if I watch it now. Screen shot looks sweet though.

Hmmm. Never thought of that whatsoever. Because I've seen Wishes, etc. before and still want to see it again.

I'm also glad I saw Star Wars fireworks video too. I was expecting more there, too. Now I'm not going to be caught off guard.

Okay I watched the video for Star Wars fireworks ahead of time and I can tell you it's WAY more impressive in person. You just can't get the same feel watching a video as when you're there. It is far more impressive than Wishes IMO. I may watch the ROL video but again I think seeing it live will be a way different experience.

Start changing now for the "Jungle-Book themed - Rivers of Light LITE" show meal packages what they planned to charge had "River of Light" started up on schedule. Then when the real "Rivers of Light" is ready to be presented, increase the charge for the meal packages.

I agree that the sneak peek leaves a lot to be desired. I guess that those are the only elements that they can get to work right now. I was expecting something much more like WOC too. I'm hopeful that the potential is there, and that the final show will be really awesome.

I always travel when AK has 5pm closings, so I'm really looking forward to evening in AK in general, atmosphere, riding EE st night, Avatarland, ROL and night safari.

I'm in the camp of not wanting to see these things beforehand. We watched Fantastic on YouTube only because we were warned that our 3 yo might find it scary. We thought he might. But the show was rather disappointing and something I feel like I don't ever need to see now. I'm not sure if I would have felt that way if we'd seen in person.

I could watch the lotuses and water all day.

The water screens were kind of meh, but considering they pushed back opening to finish this and it was just a small segment I'm not judging it harshly.

Fantasmic is 10 times better in person. I absolutely love Fantasmic, and would honestly get bored watching a video of it. When your child gets older, I recommend giving it another chance!!!

This was a "small sneak peek", not the entire show. I can't wait for ROL and I think it will be brilliant. I certainly can't proclaim judgement on the future complete show experience based on a video of a sneak peek.

I can respect that I'm clearly the minority. But the video was almost 6 minutes of a reported 22 minute show. So 25+%... ?

(And it felt much longer.)

I hope you are right and it's better... But I feel far less disappointed to be missing it.
