Unfortunately you will only be left with 1BR value rooms, the rest are taken immediately especially concierge and even then you usually need to walk them
Even the 1-bedroom value rooms were not available when I checked. I am okay with not getting them since I do not think we would book AKV enough to make it our home resort anyway.

I still have it on my list of 4 that I am considering for a second resale contract but I think it is more likely we buy BLT or another SSR contract.

The problem with BLT is I doubt we would book the 1-bedroom standard there and the Lake view appears to be available at 7 months. We will travel mostly in August.

I don’t think I want to make booking at exactly at 8am on the 11th month part of my vacation process.
Thats also fair enough, but if you wan't to try ie Club level at AKV you would need to. Unless you get lucky and will settle for some of the leftover days that get dropped.

The same goes if you want to book value rooms to save points. Ie 7 days in September is 55 points.

So I totally understand why you don't want to book right at the 8am mark, but I also understand those that would want to.

Just a note that the ROFR generator didn't work that well for this one. It's a very stripped contract with seller crediting dues.

I agree with you. Every decision made regarding all aspects of DVC is unique to the individual and their family.

There is no wrong answer if it is what you want.

Hi All,

I've noticed a trend that seems to have really caught on where people have been posting their original string with a separate "passed" comment. This makes it much harder to find and update the strings for passes and unless you repost the original string with ", passed m/d" added to the end, my site isn't going to pick it up. As always, I recommend you just use the string tool.

Also, just wanted to check in with the following members who have been waiting over a month to see if there are any updates?
@SD13, @Rocky092, John Purcell, @shand32783, @PeachyKeenLetter, @dvcmbr94, @Jimsboy, @Bayoumomof3

Happy to see all the recent passes! Cheers

One week!
Wow! That's fast for these recent rofrs, right? That's getting back to the spring speed when they were going through at the pace of a week. Ours did that back in April (or March?) and then things seemed to "slow" to a reasonable pace of a few weeks (3-4). Interested to see if the one week routine is back in action again.

I have been tracking certain resorts and specific room categories and it seems to me you really have to work to get access. The value rooms and even standard rooms at certain resorts. Even being an owner does not mean you will be able to get them at 11 month.

I don’t think I want to work that hard to get those rooms.
We actually get a kick out of making our dining ADRs the morning of our 60 day mark. We look at it almost like a game. Of course it’s not the way a lot of people would want to do it but for us stalking that value or concierge will be something we don’t mind. Maybe even walking it a few days if need be? Either way just having the chance at a value stay to almost get us two trips for the price of one is worth going with AKV over SSR or OKW.

I think the main issue for me is that my wife would rather stay in a BLT lake view or an AKV Savanna room. So even if I did all the work to get the point friendly rooms she would rather have stayed in the other room.

Doing a split stay may help. Next time you go have her stay at BLT lake view while you stay at a AKL value room.

Me and your wife are the same!! One of my vacation "indulgence" if applicable - I like enjoying my coffee every morning on the balcony w/ a view. It's something I can't do that at home, makes me truly feel like I'm on vacation, I'm having the best time and this is worth my hard earned money!
