Me and your wife are the same!! One of my vacation "indulgence" if applicable - I like enjoying my coffee every morning on my balcony w/ a view. It's something I can't do at home, and makes me truly feel like I'm on vacation, I'm having the best time and this is worth my hard earned money!
100% agree with this! And if you haven't had the chance.... the best place to do this is at Aulani with some freshly brewed Royal Kona Vanilla Macadamia Nut!

I fell in love with sitting on the lanai in the morning and evening way back on my honeymoon in 1993 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, and have continued it on probably 20 trips the the islands since. I love to sit and enjoy my coffee in the morning, and a couple of sodas in the evening as I read a book. Been doing it for 30 years now, and have carried the habit both to WDW and Aulani.

I understand it and we will make sure we do what we can to accommodate her. It does make me question the importance (for us) of buying a specific resort rather than SAP.

The rooms she wants are available at 7 months when we travel.

That's one of the reasons why we went with BRV (husband's favorite) instead of AKV (my favorite). Since it's a lot easier to book AKV at 7 months, I wanted to make sure my husband also love our home resort.

just a note, I think @Galactic Reversal is hoping that people will post an updated string re: passing ROFR rather than just a post saying that it passed.
Yeah, I saw that just now. The "problem" is, we've been doing it that way for years and years (I know the post upthread says it is a "trend that seems to have caught on", but it's been that way forever), and most people aren't going to know that, for the benefit of his website alone, they need to go back and make a new string. Not saying it can't or shouldn't be done, and I definitely appreciate all the work that has been put into that website and the amazing tools it offers, but I know I've bought and sold over 20 contracts in the past 3 years and have never done anything more than posted "passed", specifically for the benefit of @pangyal.

Maybe it should be added to the instructions on the first page of every new ROFR thread (if it isn't already there, because I know I never look at those anymore either).

I've not been here forever or anything but yes, the instructions from pangyal are to use the tool again, and that is actually what most people were doing, but I guess not you or some others.

Then come back and post whether you passed or not using the tool again so that your completed string looks like the sample below. Or I will chase you down! Just kidding. But, in the spirit of helping everyone who uses this thread as a resource, please do let us know whether or not Disney waived your contract so that the data is complete. Please do not simply post that you passed, as I cannot comb through the thread to find your contract.

I think people here tend to do what they’ve seen done recently rather than going back to read the instructions, which makes sense. I was just trying to guide us back to the full strings for updates. That had been the norm for at least the past several months. As someone who’s endeavored to do what @pangyal does, I can tell you it’s much easier to keep track of everything that way. I wouldn’t suggest something just for the sake of my site. Anyway, I don’t want to derail this thread, just wanted to clarify.

Updated! At long last- sorry for the delay, but I assure you that it was worth it (to me, at least 😜).

If your string isn't on the list, please use the tool on page 1 and repost :).

As to the debate about the "passed" blurb- I actually don't have a preference either way, but I prefer not to have to check my calendar to confirm the date if someone writes, "Passed today". If you write something like, "Passed today 9/8," I am fine with that, and I believe that @Galactic Reversal can then get the data once I have added that one to the Passed section- correct?

Yep

I think the main issue for me is that my wife would rather stay in a BLT lake view or an AKV Savanna room. So even if I did all the work to get the point friendly rooms she would rather have stayed in the other room.
Totally understand! I will say that with the Value rooms I BELIEVE there are 8 that are savannah view and 2 that are parking lot/not a view and a handful more that I think are partial? Maybe? Either way it would be a chance I'd be willing to take that I don't hit the two that are garbage views...literally! But also I wouldn't mind going the other way as well and getting the most expensive Kilimanjaro Club rooms. Again for us, also having a small child who loves animals, we thought going AKV as our "SAP" was the best middle ground between price and still having home resort where we would enjoy if SAP didn't work.

For value studios 8 are savannah view, 8 are pool view and 2 overlook the port cochere area.
For value 1 BR's (and so 2BR's) 4 are savannah view, 4 are pool view and 2 overlook the port cochere area.
