multiple UYs? Maybe not for some, but all our contracts serve very specific purposes, it's not hard to manage at all on my end. And if we buy RIV resale, it doesn't accomplish anything to have it in the same UY as either of our resale contracts b/c none of those points are combinable.
I agree with you about multiple UY, I used to be firmly against it out of fear it would be too complicated. Then I realized we are planning some shorter trips that are past the banking deadline for our current contract. Plus, I like staying at resorts other than BCV. That's why I'm hunting for a small contract to cover the portion of the year that is outside our current banking deadline. I'm excited for the extra points and increased flexibility!

I'm pretty much done looking just in my UYs and will also admit that if a good enough deal came along in a UY I could work with for our travel times I'd jump on it without hesitation. And loaded or semi loaded is where my focus is too, there's an over abundance of stripped contracts out there right now that I'm avoiding.
yep. Just say no to stripped contracts.

Except if you want to buy more RIV points (direct or resale) now you’re locked into that new UY.

Or if you buy Yacht Club DVC in the future…. do you put them in your normal UY or the RIV UY because those could be used at RIV….

It’s just not worth it.

I gave up multiple UYs when I realized I was going to leave my kids something they would not enjoy fussing with that much, and as I get older, I'm not loving overly-complicated planning as much either. Disney has enough to learn and keep track of without adding to my list lol. As to stripped contracts, it depends when I need them, I tend to use extra points for trips I don't really need to add (which incurs lots of peripheral expenses), so as long as I get current year points I'm happy... but if they are just "giving them away" I won't turn them down ;)

I just read on Facebook that someone had a 100 point Grand Floridian contract at $147 per point taken by the ROFR monster :sad2: It was taken on day 19. Don't know if it was stripped or had points but I am sure that price was a big part of it appealing to the ROFR monster :rolleyes1

Had a quick question. What is the longest that it can take to get a response from Disney on ROFR? I know most tend to happen within 30 days but ours is taking longer so just wondering how long it could maybe take. My wife and I had one sent out for ROFR on Jan 31st. It is a 43 point contract for BCV at $135.

I have asked the our contacts and they have just said that it can take as long as Disney wants, which isn't a super helpful answer.

They can take up until the date of closing.

Did you ask the agency that sent it to make sure everything went when they said or that all documents were there? With our first contract, it took 40 days for ROFR. But we asked at 36 days and found out that they hadn't sent a copy of a death certificated needed from the seller and it was just sitting with Disney waiting for that piece.

Ya I have seen that in this thread a few times but was confused because the timeline said that closing documents are sent over within 7 days of Disney waiving their right. So if they have until closing, but closing isn't set until they waive, I didn't understand the order of things here.

I did notice on our contracts that the closing date is set to April 1st. So will they just start preparing the documents prior to April 1st if they don't hear from Disney?

I have asked them about the timeline and they just have kind of dismissed the question and said Disney takes as long as they take. I will definitely follow back up with them.

If I had to take a guess, I'd speculate that either the broker or the title company messed up on some paperwork which restarted everything. I'd ask both the broker and the title company when it was officially submitted to ROFR and if Disney turned anything back for corrections.

So this was happening to me too,as far as being dismissed, I asked for the timeline twice for when we were going to close and I was dismissed as well saying a timeline would be provided to me and then crickets for two weeks. Finally i emailed and told them that a strong intention for buying resale in January was for me to take a vacation in September, that i realize it was my mistake in going the resale route and I should have gone direct because my expectations were not realistic on how this would go down, and asked what would happen if I cancelled the sale at this point and if I would be able to get my deposit back if this doesn't close by deadline. I made sure to tell them thank you for all the work they've done so far. All of a sudden I got an email back with all the updates saying exactly where we were in the process and that we should close by next week. I realize yours is in ROFR, but if you're dissatisfied and politely but firmly express that, it might get the ball rolling.

Agree with this @DanielEcho
