I’ve done it many times … have never been told no. *knock on wood* because the rules can change at any time.
So I was in the process of transferring points and was warned by the CM that it would be a "final transaction." I read that to mean like banking or borrowing is a "final transaction." So not sure if you can keep moving the points back and forth, I don't believe that's true but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just because it is listed did not mean that is thr right price. 150 point BWV contracts are passing on the $110-115 price range. For 60 pts $120-130 is more appropriate.
I'd agree with what you are saying. Listing price and what things are actually selling for are entirely different. Listing price doesn't mean much if no one wants to pay that price. We got a 90 pt that was listed at 145 for 114 PP by paying CC and 23 maintenance fees.

Looking at what's pending on pg 1 of this thread is more important than what people are listing things for. You may have to make a number of offers and get some rejections to find the person who is ready to negotiate and sell, but if you have the time and patience it can be worth it.

Yes that is my understating as well. You can move a set of points to another UY once. You can’t move the same points back and forth. But if you have multiple contracts under the same UY you can make multiple transfers under that UY.

ATM, You are only allowed ONE transfer per year to another member but multiple if you are transferring between memberships you own.

This only applies to multiple UY at same home correct? Not at varying homes with different UY. That would just be moving home/points/UY from one contract to another.

Is it definitely true that you can transfer unlimited times between your own contracts? I’ve heard different things about that.

They will allow multiple transfer between memberships owned by the same person.

But, the points themselves can’t be moved more than once. For example. I moved some June 2022 points into my Dec UY and then just moved Dec 2022 Points into my June UY…

But, once the points moved, those specific points couldn’t go back…for example, I could not move back the June 2022 points to June..I had to send my Dec points.

However, there is nothing to prevent them from holding owners of multiple memberships to the once per UY rule.

I moved VGC points from my Dec UY to my June UY. I do not have VGC in June, I have 2 BCV contracts only right now in that UY. The VGC points show up like a 3rd contract under the June UY. Unfortunately I had to call to book with them as home resort points, but did have visibility... and I could combine them with my June points for a 7 month booking. When you transfer them, they also don't show up in your dashboard totals either. But if you try to make a booking under 7 months, you have the 3 contracts to choose from in my case

Points move into a temporary contract in the membership. So you can move different home resorts.

But, once transferred, those points stay what they were…so I can transfer my VGF points to my membership that doesn’t have it and they still remain VGF with the same UY.

Nothing ever adds to a contract. Contracts are deeded interests. You are simply adding to the membership.

Thats what happens to transferred points...they become a separate temporary contract in the membership that got them.

I guess the ROFR machine really is taking a nap right now.
Still trying to wrap my head around this one - what a deal! I assume you offered $125/pt AND seller pays ‘23 dues (even though you effectively got 22 AND 23 points)? Is that a typical request to have seller pay current year dues when those points are available?

After 20+ years of WDW trips I’m finally ready to make some offers, so trying to get a sense of what is typical. Thanks to you all for an incredibly informative and helpful thread for new/to-be owners!

You may have to make a number of offers and get some rejections to find the person who is ready to negotiate and sell, but if you have the time and patience it can be worth it.
That is the key. Last year we were trying to get BCV when Disney decided to take almost every contract through ROFR. We had 4 contracts bought back over 4 months. We waited, were patient, and ended up with 2 fully loaded contracts from international sellers that we got for $145 and $150pp when most other contracts were going for $170-$180pp. It took us 6 months. So 17 nights have already been used for those contracts. And by July another, 28 nights will be used by friends and family. So patience and time paid off big for us.

This goes both ways though. Just because a buyer wants to buy for 114 because someone else may have gotten that doesn’t fly either. That seller may have had extenuating circumstances.

It ultimately boils down to what price 2 parties can come to an agreement on, which will vary due to circumstances. How motivated is the seller? How motivated is the buyer? Is the contract loaded or stripped? Is it the correct UY? There are a lot of variables in play and it can move prices one way or the other…

Hi! Longtime follower but first time posting. I’m a current DVC member but first time buying resale. Would you consider a poly 130 point contract at $147 pp a good deal? They have ‘21 points listed, no 22, and full points 23 moving forward. Just curious if I should jump or keep waiting. Not worried about ROFR at the moment either.

Yeah. It looks like Poly has been going in the 140-165 range...so if you really want it bid! If you want a better price offer a little lower.

Also, I’d like to add that price per point on a smaller contract doesn’t really change the deal that much. So if you are close and you love the contract it may be worth it to spend a little extra and get to a deal.

Thanks! They actually listed it at $157 - I bid $147 and they accepted. I’m just trying to make my spouse feel better about the contract cost after giving me the green light 😅.

Yes, I think so. I just sold a 75 point Poly contract for 150. I think many are in the 150 range (buying not necessarily listing price) at this point. When we initially listed, Poly was selling more in the 160s (sometimes 170s). 140s is on the lower end of what I’ve been seeing.

That is a fair price for a smaller contract right now.
