Some of us have goals to get the "stay at all DVC resorts" badge. Others take it to the next level.
I took the "buy where you want to stay" to heart after trying to book places like BCV at 7 months. :) There are so many amazing resorts... But there are actually a few places we aren't big fans of and won't be buying too. Love having so many options as there's hopefully something for everyone!

The dues at OKW since 1998 ($6.72) have gone up over 39% ($9.36) in 5 years. It's astonishing. If they continue to rise at an average of 5% as they have since the beginning in 1992 the 2042 dues will be close to $25 a point.😯
meant since 2018 ...whoops. btw DISBOARDS COULD WE GET AN EDIT BUTTON?

First contract! It's a small one, but it's ours!
Nice to know I'm not the only Tiny contract holder. I would have gone for a 25 point Grand Californian in a heartbeat, but I think they never sold below 50 point contracts - likely the new Disneyland and Poly towers will also be a minimum 50 point add on. Congratulations!

I’ll also throw my hat into the I like having two use years ring. DEC and JUNE. Gives us good overlap for Dec and June travel periods and has the rest of the year covered well enough.

If we get some VDH points we’ll have coverage for the entire year on both coasts.

It does make the spreadsheet I use to forecast our use of points a few years ahead fun… but I’ve always liked that kind of thing.
Same here. I love having two use years. The other benefit is you have two memberships so if you want you can buy 24 OTU points on each every year.

wow -really?! i'm seeing $150 a point on resale. so go even lower?
Here's what has already passed this quarter and last quarter. I got this from pg. 1 of both threads. If you haven't looked already, go see what's still waiting for a good idea of what others' are offering. I wouldn't offer $150 if I thought I could get it at $120- $140.

That $95 one that passed was a steal looking at the rest.

I also will have 2 UYs. I chose June for my first contract and followed it a couple weeks later with a different resort and different UY of February. I actually am good with 2 UYs because I have very different plans for each contract.

We take a trip typically in June and one in December. Originally, it was once a year in March. As a result, all of our points are in the February use year. Not ideal for a December trip, but the June trips work out just fine. I just can't bring myself to adding the complexity of two use years, the inability to combine points, and the need to remember banking deadlines and what reservations were made with what combination of contracts. Understand that others don't mind it, (and some may relish it), and that's totally cool, but it's just part of my "mantra" of "no walking, no stalking, no waitlisting".

"No walking no stalking no waitlisting" -- A wise person once told me "You snooze you lose".

I told an agent that multiple BLT contracts passed at a lower price than I offered. They did not care. His opinion was that those contracts did not compare to the contracts he listed because his listing were loaded contracts. If the people on this board said their contracts were loaded his implication was they were lying
My contract is fully load, plus some bonus banked points! I mean, I’m still waiting to close so I guess anything can happen…
But I do think I got lucky finding a seller that just wanted to sell asap

So if I have a Jan 23 at BWV and Sept 23 at BLT. Can I use all the points in Sept 23 from both contracts at BLT?

This I understand. Or if I transfer the BWV 23 to the BLT. They would move to the other account and I could sell the BWV contract minus the 23 points but I’d still have them, just on the other account.
I’m not sure your question was answered. You can transfer your January UY BWV points to the membership (not the contract) containing the BLT points, but the BWV points are still BWV points and can’t be used at BLT until 7 months.

Then you could sell the BWV contract, and if that’s the only contract in that membership, that membership would end.

Fingers crossed. I know this could go either way.
Shawn Ray at Fidelity was super professional. Presented my offer without guff, and was just as surprised as I was. Fully recommend her.
She was my rep too. Didn’t blink at presenting any of my offers and said “you just never know” when I kept saying I was confident rofr would take it. Ours passed at 133pp! I was shocked!

I’m with you on this. No matter how people try to put a spin on it, for us, it’s a level of complexity we just don’t need.

So what if you have two contracts with the same UY? If you decided to sell one could you transfer those points to the other contract? (Not planning on selling, just curious.)
