If we get through ROFR in the next few days, does anyone think that we have any chance to get access to the account before the end of May to use those 350 expiring banked points?

It will depend the most on the sellers and how fast they return paperwork. Even if you title company gets them to you quickly, it can’t close until sellers sign.

Unfortunately I think your chances are slim given you haven’t even passed yet.

I'm not.

Where do you think all of those stripped resale contracts are coming from? Commercial "landlord" buys a contract, transfers everything into another account for later rental, and sells it. Because loaded contracts are undervalued vs. stripped ones, this is a lucrative business model, and it has been going on for years.

If they do not limit self-tranfsers, there is no upper bound on how many times one can do that. So, they are putting an upper bound. Now, a buy-strip-flip operation has to hold at least half of their total number of contracts long enough to dispose of the rental stays. It adds friction of the business model.

You bring up a really great point that this limit being enforced for all is part of the crack down for renting, which many people wanted to see happen.

Thank you for the insight. Karen at DVC resale and Jessie at Magic Vacation Title made the seller aware of the time crunch so still cautiously optimistic that a miracle can get pulled off with a few days to spare.

Thank you! I was not expecting my family to become so attached to this resort…. but they love it. Now if they can just do something cool with the DVC side of the boardwalk!
I'm confident they will eventually!

What can we say.. Disney World is amazing.. much better than Disneyland 😉

Before all the Disneyland people murder me I'm kidding 😂
WDW Resort >Disneyland Resort
Disneyland > Magic Kingdom
Shoot me. :flower1:

This is how I feel too. DL will always be home for me. But the other parks, resorts, dining, even Disney Springs sets WDW above DLR for me. I'm grateful though that I get to go to both regularly and I don't have to pick ☺️

I generally agree with this (though I’ve never bothered visiting Disney springs in 15+ trips…almost made it for the drone show but the rain interfered with the day we hoped to go), but I also wonder if WDW only seems more exciting because DLR is in my backyard so I take it for granted? OTOH, I do think Epcot dining, fine dining at resorts, AK attractions, and Cosmic Rewind really give WDW an extra boost for the moment.

I love being a DL local. Door to door to Main Street in under 30 mins, sometimes as short as 15-20. It is fabulous for quick after work trips or weekend mornings. I love DVC because now we can do weekend trips to VGC/VDH, whereas previously I balked at the cash prices given I live so close.

WDW and Aulani are my vacation destinations and both are more exciting to me, likely because I have to hop on a plane to get to each. I used to take my homework to study at DL in high school and college. 🤣 It just feels like home to me.

We know we want to add on more points, and are struggling with where to add on. Resale at WDW or Aulani, direct at VDH? But very thankful I live so close to DL and am halfway in between WDW and Aulani and get to go to both so often.

We are visiting Japan for the first time later this year, and I assume I'll fall in love with Tokyo Disneyland, too. So thankful there is no Japan DVC!

Back in my high school days a lot of my friends would have APs. No reservations back then. So we'd drive the 15min to Disneyland after school and spend the evening there. Sometimes not even ride anything. We would just loiter on Main Street, or do a couple laps walking around the park. Or when Space Mountain would become a walk-on right before closing, we'd jump on. Good times!

Yes, I have tried to explain to my British husband that Disneyland was our place, like most teens used to hang out at the mall. He still can't quite believe it. 🤣

Anyway, getting this back on track, BWV is a great resort! Congrats @AstroBlasters - enjoy every bit of that contract over the next few years.
