I looked at their site for AKL too! I hadn't heard much about them but they seemed fairly legit. Hope you have a good experience!

I've anxiously been awaiting your response after I saw it submitted, as our contracts appear to be nearly identical. I think mine submitted a day or two before yours. Good luck!

I am working with them too and both Mark and Lori have been great to work with. I highly recommend them as well if they have what you want! Unfortunately for us, it was more about finding the right contract than a specific broker as most only had stripped contracts. We found them by luck and don't regret it!

Us too and they have been wonderful!!

Looking back at the previous ROFR thread, the vast majority of contracts that passed did so right at 2 weeks or under. Most of the ones taken were around 3 weeks or longer. I hit 2 weeks today on my second attempt at passing a contract. Not a good sign.

Don't lose your faith in the magical wonder of pixie dust!

Oh wow! It seems there's a few just like ours (AKL 160 pts) waiting right now. It would stand to reason that Disney wouldn't want several of those contracts all at once, so I'm hoping we can all sneak by. :wizard: Surprisingly, I've been really calm about the waiting process... it stressed me out more to just wait for it to be sent to ROFR but now I'm fairly calm. I'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as I hear!

Yeah :/ I wish I could be encouraging here. I grabbed all the data that was specifically for AKL from the last thread into this thread and it seemed that AKL offers submitted in January had an average of 13 day wait, offers submitted in February had a 12-13 day wait, and several in late February and March had just a 10 day wait. I'll be honest, I kinda expected to see you post that you had passed on Tuesday... it made me worried when I didn't see that :( still, hope is not lost and I realllllyy hope it goes through for you!

aoconnor---$78-$9225-110-AKV-Mar-0/16, 35/17, 110/18- seller pays 2017 MF- sent 4/7

This is my second contract (first was 50 pts @ AKV). Wish I would have just bought more to begin with and avoid paying closing costs twice, but that seems to be a common rookie mistake on here! :p

I used Fidelity this time around and they have been great. Easily digitally signed the contract and was able to put the downpayment on a credit card with no fee. Offer submitted to ROFR in just a day.

Good luck with contract. Mine is very similar but would have preferred yours (few more 17 points) if we hadn't already been in ROFR.

Thanks ScubaCat for getting the link back up and working!

This was submitted last night - now the waiting game begins! Fingers crossed for those who have been waiting that you hear some news today!

Good luck :)!

I have to rant about a particular broker!

There are no edits to the following email I received except where I inserted the word sellers. This is regarding an OPENING offer I made on a BLT contract. I figured, we would maybe go back and forth and meet somewhere in the middle. There are 0 2016 points with only partial points coming on in DECEMBER 2017. I received the following email from a broker regarding my offer on a contract:

"They [sellers] are unwilling to take $100 per point since if they pay costs and dues the offer is really on about $90 per point. Disney is buying back Bay Lake up to prices of $114 per point. Sellers will not pay dues and closing costs except when there are no points allotted for 2017. Although the points come later in the year they are usable from Dec 2016 forward. I am sorry but you will need to pay closing costs and dues on this one and make a higher offer for them to consider even countering."

I mean really?!? MF's are tied to calendar year and not UY. They won't pay ANY MF's for 2017 when they have no 2016 points which is really December 2016 and Jan-Nov 2017?!? You only get some of the points in December 2017 which is one month before the end of the year for all of December 2017 and Jan-Nov 2018, but I should pay all the MF's for 2017?!? Maybe I should just pay over $114pp because then I know Disney won't be interested. Seriously?!? This agency is the absolute worst. Not the board sponsor, I actually love Rachel. This is who I used the first time around but with a different specific broker, and it was a terrible experience last year. I thought maybe he was a one-off because others seemed to like the firm. The second broker at the firm has been nothing but rude, snide, and unavailable. This is classic fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone! I can go on and on, but I will end it there!

Okay, I have to offer an alternate viewpoint here. I can't imagine anybody not asking for their MFs back for available points in their Use Year. Even though the sellers wouldn't get to book a vacay until December with that UY, they still needed to pay the MFs back in January like anyone else. Those points are available from the '17 UY, so it stands to reason that they should be reimbursed for the points that are included.

December Use Years are a bit of a different animal with how late they are in the calendar year and when they have MFs due. That being said, with a December UY, people at the end of the contract life will have points to use past anyone else's, so it evens out at the end.

Good luck! Yes, we see a lot of repeat visitors on this thread :p

I hear you, but MF's follow calendar year and not UY. Technically, the 2017 fees were for January-December 2017 of which only one month is MF's for the December 2017 points. 11 months of those fees were for the Dec 2016 points of which I would have none. Also, all of the 2017 points aren't there. It's a partially stripped contract. I'm not saying I shouldn't pay them, I'm just saying it wasn't crazy to ask for them to eat the cost because I would only have the points for one month of 2017 and not even full points at that.

It's all a moot point. I've moved on and may be abandoning BLT altogether. I just don't have the time or patience for this right now. Maybe I'll come back to it, but I may just say that there's something keeping me from owning there, so I shouldn't fight it. :/
