Rockin' the Magic for New Years 12-29-2010

Actually this will be my first marathon so I am going for a personal best of just finishing. :rotfl2:

I am going to run a half-marathon in January 2010 to build up which is why this cruise just had perfect timing.

I have run mostly 8 and 10k's but haven't even done those in a long while. At that time my personal best was a 7:35 mile. If I can make a pace of a 14:30 for the marathon I think I will be happy.

My Father is an Ultra-marathon runner so I will be getting plenty of input from him. I am going to see him this weekend for Easter and tell him what my plans are which I am pretty sure when I do he will be on the phone 30 seconds later booking himself a room at WDW so that he can run it with me.:rotfl:

I look forward to the morning jogs and would love a jogging buddy.

Here is one interesting story for ya. I was doing the Nordstrom Beat the Bridge race here in Seattle. I had shown up late for the start and by the time I got my number and was getting it pinned on the starting gun had already gone off. I started racing for the starting line. As I am racing for the starting line I have an asthma attack, collapse before I make the starting line, have med crews and King 5 television come over and start filming me for all the world to see my glorious finish before I have even started the race! I took off out of there wheezing like you wouldn't believe and got to my car as fast as I could! Not one of my better attempts at running a race.

However, now that I have given up smoking my times are vastly improving and I am looking forward on May 17th of this year of competing again in the Beat the Bridge and this time I will finish (ok, at least cross the starting line) the dang thing! :thumbsup2

Also....just a friendly reminder that this is a Disney cruise and that we are here to be respectful of the diversity that is not only shown throughout the cruise ship but also to our fellow DISmeets people as well. So lets please be respectful of one another as we enjoy our Disney vacation and please don't hesitate to sign up for our "DISmeets" (social gethering) and "Fish Extender" (secret gift exchange).
The Dismeets is open for all DISsers of all ages as yes, I welcome suggestions for times and locations. Normally, the DISmeets is held on day one of the cruise. ME? well...I would suggest to have it in the evening, but again before I get specific, I would rather hear from you.
The FisH Extender (secret gift exchange) is also open for all people to sign up for as well....yes - including adults. On my Disney Wonder cruise in Jan 2009, I received some pretty cool FE gifts so don't hesitate to jump in and get signed up.

Hmmm...this does sound like a fun bunch...I'm waiting for the quote from Dreams Unlimited, but I'm pretty sure we're going to do this. I have plenty of time to save up, right???

ETA: Ok, I did it! We're booked in a cat 8 room on deck 7. It will be me, my 4 year old (almost 5 at the time), my mom and my aunt. We've never cruised before, but have our first coming up in September. I'm already addicted, lol.

Just checking in to see who else is signing up. Looks like a fun bunch. If I haven't said so yet, we are up for Fish Extenders and DISMeets.

So, where are the crafty ones that I can sweet talk into door magnets?? :rolleyes1 I'm so NOT the crafty one...

This is my first cruise w/ DD. I am also bringing my sister and her son. We are all very excited.

What do you all think of the new itinerary?

I think it's part of an evil plot designed to keep DCL's drink revenues high - by keeping us away from the duty free shops on land until halfway through.

Drats!:rotfl:

No Posts since July???

If anyone is interested, we may consider hosting a mini-meet in the Walt on a sea-day.

Let me know!

Just found this thread. Not much activity. Here is my contribution. We are a family of 4 and this will be our 11th Disney Cruise. We booked this last June when we did a surprise 3 day on the Wonder. Looking forward to the trip, especially the visit to Tortolla since we had never been there before.

They only do these specials when the December holidays align with Saturdays or something like that, so they don't happen every year.

This is the first one for us.

This is #5 for us.

Hi - We will be joining the cruise. We got of the Western Magic in October and DD loved it and so we rebooked on board for the MR cruise in Nov 2011. Over the holiday's we decided that maybe the best way to spend our holiday and DD birthday and my birthday is to go on a cruise. So we just had our travel agent switch over to this cruise (Gulp.. the price is so high compared to a 7 night off season, but we only live once). We snagged a SPH room, so we are extremely happy.

Traveling, will be
ME, lucky1
DH
DD8 (Turning 9 on the cruise)

We would be interested in a DIS meet and participating in FE.

Does anyone have a graphic yet for Rockin' the Magic for New Year's?
I would like to add something to my signature and of course start working on Magnets.
