There is news that Rocket Rods will make a comeback on July 17, 2005. They have been testing it after park closing times.

They won't be coming back.....the queue for RR is now being turned into Buzz...also there were some mechanical/safety issues with the ride.

Sorry.

The last time I was in DL was 6 years ago and they were in the process of changing the People Mover. Is that the Rocket Rods? Did they ever work?

Yes. They woked off and on for a couple years before they pulled the plug on them. They added some nice kinetic energy to Tomorrowland but they were not what I would consider a great attraction. They weren't fast enough to really be thrilling. At least the PeopleMover you could sit back and relax on for a while. I got the front seat once and that was fun. I think it was a thrill ride for smaller children and an okay ride for others.

Been peeking around Superstar Limo lately?? As you *know* thats where all the old and new rides are tested....

I'll believe it when I see it- but they'll have to canabalize Small World too as thats where the op boards went...

As much as I would love for this to be true, I have to agree, I will believe it when I see it or here it from the Mouses Mouth, so to speak.
I am very interested in hearing/seeing what the official announcement of the 50th brings to light. Guess we will have to wait until May 5th (cinco de mayo).

Superstar Limo WAS going to come back to life ... but it's been shelved, again ... the report is that the new prez would like to spend $$ on NEW e-ticket style attrractions to pull in the tourists, and so had to pass on the millions it would cost to restore Superstar Limo.

As for Rocket Rods, ain't gonna happen - no where to queue up now with the building of Buzz.

Just curious, but does anyone know when Buzz is scheduled to open?

The rumors I have heard is July 17th 2005. But I am would wait until the official announcement before I got excited.

Thanks. Hopefully it will be a bit sooner as I'm tentatively planning to go in May of next year.
