Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

::yes::I love the picture you picked for your frame! Perfect for you guys.
YAY for a new light saber! you always need one in the house..ya never know when Vader will invade! Apparently he comes to mine more often then i knew.... Just ask the kids!
:darth:

Why don't they sell more animal orientated stuff??? i'm always looking for something to bring home to my dogs.. they don't have anything!!!
i see petsmart now sells collars and leashes with mickey and Minnie. with all the animals and Disney i am surprised they don't have a store dedicated to animals!

i will be the sucker buying the ears for the kids.. I really think that is a cool idea... i need to know which shows they work with too..

HOLY GUACAMOLE that is a LOT of people!!!!!

Jim's lightsabre is pretty awesome. Gabe has had those cool sabres that light up and make the sound....but he eventually wears them out and they just become plain old light sabres without the cool features. :sad2:

That is just a perfect anniversary picture of the two of you! :goodvibes

Can't wait to see your F! pictures with the glowing ears!!! popcorn::

I call shenanagins if Jim says he is not having a great time!!!

Light up mohawk, how cool is that! Even cooler that granny is wearing it:rotfl2:

Love the PP picture you picked for the frame, so cute!

Wow - your time at 50s sounds like a blast! :rotfl2: Auntie Clair was AMAZING!!!! I love that she took all those pics for you too - what a great experience. Also, the pot roast looks sooooo good.

Jim made one heck of a light saber! I don’t think Willow’s turned out nearly as good. The Pluto R2-D2 is, of course, awesome! ;)

Your PP pics, especially your favorite, turned out great. I would have framed the same one. :thumbsup2

It’s neat to read about the FP+ experience with things like Fantasmic! - I haven’t read anything about FP+ for that before. We have never managed to get to Fantasmic! :scared1:

Yea, she might appreciate it more when she's a little older. I can't wait to see Saving Mr. Banks! I'm either going to go Saturday or Christmas Eve day as I want to see the Hobbit too. I can't decide which one I want to see first.
Gah - so jealous! I want to see both of those too (although I'd have to see the first part of The Hobbit first ). I haven't seen an adult movie in the theater in, how old is Willow?, yeah, 6 years!!!! :scared1:

It is soooo slow at work right now that I need stuff to distract me. That's why I was looking for new TRs to read. Your title actually caught my attention but then I realized, hey I know that person. Today though I need to write some more installments for my TR if I want to keep up the pace I've set. The one I'm posting in a few minutes is the last one I have written up.
 Well, I'm glad you found it. I hope you enjoy it.

I hear ya on the updates - it's hard! I am going to try to get all of mine written over the next two weeks while I'm off work, but with all the holiday stuff going on, who knows! We leave for Disneyland two weeks after the holiday break, so I REALLY want to get those updates written. I plan to add on our little birthday Disneyland trip at the end of the current TR. ;)

So many updates and I have had so little time.

A few things:

Love the photos in The Walt Disney Story.

Love your drawings of Bolt.

What a great time you had at 50's. That is so neat that they spent all that time with you and made you do your "vows".

Love the photopass photos.

I totally believe that Darth Vader comes to your house! :rotfl:

Why don't they sell more animal orientated stuff??? i'm always looking for something to bring home to my dogs.. they don't have anything!!!
i see petsmart now sells collars and leashes with mickey and Minnie. with all the animals and Disney i am surprised they don't have a store dedicated to animals!

They used to have stuff for animals, I remember seeing stuff when we went in 2010. For some reason they discontinued it. I have read some TRs where people bring a Disney oven mitt home for their dogs. I've gotten some of the stuff at Petsmart, my dogs have several Pluto toys. But did you know that Petco has Star Wars stuff? All three of my dogs have Star Wars collars.

i will be the sucker buying the ears for the kids.. I really think that is a cool idea... i need to know which shows they work with too..

Save up your money, they are $25 a pair! I've also heard that they are very heavy and uncomfortable to wear due to the battery pack and also that the batteries die very quickly.

HOLY GUACAMOLE that is a LOT of people!!!!!

Fantasmic is usually packed like that! Leaving at the end is always fun.

Jim's lightsabre is pretty awesome. Gabe has had those cool sabres that light up and make the sound....but he eventually wears them out and they just become plain old light sabres without the cool features. :sad2:

I'm not sure Jim will play with his too much at home. It's been sitting on his night stand since we got home. The only time he's had it out was to show my Mom when she was here for Thanksgiving. I may or may not have played with it when I was dusting the bedroom last weekend. :rolleyes1

That is just a perfect anniversary picture of the two of you! :goodvibes

I know! I can't believe how well it turned out considering it was so late in the day.

Can't wait to see your F! pictures with the glowing ears!!! popcorn::

Coming up! But it's really not much to see.

I call shenanagins if Jim says he is not having a great time!!!

Light up mohawk, how cool is that! Even cooler that granny is wearing it:rotfl2:

Love the PP picture you picked for the frame, so cute!

Well he continued all week to say he wasn't coming back for another 15 years. And he has not stopped grumbling about having to go for two nights for the wedding in February. I'm not even making him go to a park!

Granny was awesome wearing that Mohawk!

I love that picture too.

Wow - your time at 50s sounds like a blast! :rotfl2: Auntie Clair was AMAZING!!!! I love that she took all those pics for you too - what a great experience. Also, the pot roast looks sooooo good.

It was an amazing bit of Pixie Dust! The Pot Roast was awesome. It's not a dish I would normally order, I usually get some kind of chicken dish, but it was a very nice change.

Jim made one heck of a light saber! I don’t think Willow’s turned out nearly as good. The Pluto R2-D2 is, of course, awesome! ;)

He did do a good job! He love Mace Windu and wanted a light saber like his. I love my little R2-D2 Pluto!

Your PP pics, especially your favorite, turned out great. I would have framed the same one. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

It’s neat to read about the FP+ experience with things like Fantasmic! - I haven’t read anything about FP+ for that before. We have never managed to get to Fantasmic! :scared1:

I hadn't read much either, that's why I wanted to try it this time. I really wanted Wishes but it never became available for the week we were there. You definitely should try to make it to Fantasmic on a future trip, it's a great show.

Gah - so jealous! I want to see both of those too (although I'd have to see the first part of The Hobbit first ). I haven't seen an adult movie in the theater in, how old is Willow?, yeah, 6 years!!!! :scared1:

I honestly don't see very many adult movies myself, I love all of the Disney kids ones too much. The first part of the Hobbit was very good. I actually went and saw it twice in the theater. I don't do that too often but there was so much going on that I wanted to see it a second time to catch things I missed the first time.

 Well, I'm glad you found it. I hope you enjoy it.

I have really enjoyed the 11 pages I've read so far!!

I hear ya on the updates - it's hard! I am going to try to get all of mine written over the next two weeks while I'm off work, but with all the holiday stuff going on, who knows! We leave for Disneyland two weeks after the holiday break, so I REALLY want to get those updates written. I plan to add on our little birthday Disneyland trip at the end of the current TR. ;)

I love reading Disneyland ones since I've never been there, I'm looking forward to yours.

So many updates and I have had so little time.

No worries, I'm just glad you are still here and reading along.

A few things:

Love the photos in The Walt Disney Story.

Love your drawings of Bolt.

What a great time you had at 50's. That is so neat that they spent all that time with you and made you do your "vows".

Thanks! The time at 50s was one of the best dining experiences I've had at WDW!

Hi everyone! One more update for you before the Holidays. I probably won't do another update till after Christmas. I do have to work next Monday but I figure everyone will be in Holiday mode by then. Plus I have to work on my annual review to turn into my boss by the end of the year. I absolutely hate doing it so I've been procrastinating!

I am off Tues, Weds and Thurs for Christmas. We aren't going anywhere this year but I have a huge project that I need to get done those three days. I promise to take some pictures so I can share with you once it's done. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

On with the update.....

I did not have as much luck with my new camera during Fantasmic as I was hoping I would. I definitely got some better shots than with my old camera but I still wasn’t 100% happy. I can’t really complain too much though because shooting over long distances in the dark was really the only problem I had.

That being said, I still got a lot of good shots from Fantasmic so sit back and enjoy!

While I was watching I decided to turn to the audience and take a picture of the Glow with the Show Ears. All the ears where blue and green during this part of the show. As you can see there really were not a whole lot of them.

Continuing on with the Fantasmic shots.

I was kind of excited because once again I saw a small mistake in the show. The timing was off at the end and I saw Mickey being lowered into the top of the mountain before the bright flashes that are supposed to cover up his exit and reappearance down below.

Then it was time to join the hordes of people trying to exit the theater. Jim tried really hard to get the crowd to start mooing since we were being herded like cattle. But everyone just gave him weird looks. He said it works well at concerts but I’m guessing that’s because half of that crowd is drunk by the end.

We took our time heading out because I knew the bus stop would be crowded. We hadn’t visited any of the Hollywood Blvd stores so we make our way through all of those. I bought a stuffed Christmas Pluto:

And the new Pluto stocking that came out for 2013:

I think I have 4 or 5 Pluto stockings now.

As we headed out, Jim spotted the little “antique” store that is to the right as you exit. He wanted to know what it was and since I didn’t know myself we headed up. It looked like some kind of art store but unfortunately it was closed. I’ll have to make sure and check it out on my next trip. Jim just had to get one more picture with the dog statue on the porch.

Then we left for the bus stops. I have nothing in my notes other than we were back in the room by 9 pm so I guess we caught a bus fairly quickly. I did miss an awesome photo op when we got back to the resort. Jim decided to get his light saber out and proceeded to run down the path “killing” imaginary Storm Troopers along the way. It was very funny but I didn’t get my camera out in time.

We were hot and tired so we ended up showering and then heading to bed about 10 pm.

Love the picture you chose for your frame! And your Fantasmic pictures! I'm sorry the FP+ seats weren't the best, but at least you know now for the future!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas!! :santa:

Hey Ariana So much to comment on great update LOVE what Auntie Claire did for ( and to ) you two for your anniversary celebration She took great pictures too Got a smile when looking at the guy behind you ( who also had an anniversary button) he was so happy & beaming for you he looked like a real relative :thumbsup2 I can't decide which looked more tasty the pot roast or the meatloaf, haven't been there in a few years but really liked them both
Don't know why I keep forgetting this wonderful spot when making ADRs will have to remember that

Agree really nice picture for the frame

Silly ole Jim just keeps proving more & more how much he dislikes WDW I bet if they really end up doing a Star Wars area STRONG rumor he's not waiting another 15 years to go You should really think about a Star Wars weekend trip He would flip with the stars that host every year....I see a Star Wars room in your house just like Pluto's

Hey tell him I color too I find it very relaxing and in my work bag is always a box of Crayolas and a coloring book

That store is Sid Cahuenga's One Of A Kind Shop unique and autographed items from stars of Movies, Sports, and Music that you can purchase The front porch now is a FP+ kiosk..that could change

The great Dane on the porch I have wanted that since the 1980's but the damn thing is bolted down and someone is always looking

Awww your Pluto stuff is adorable!!! Mickey is sending the cutest Pluto stuffie to our house on Christmas this year!!! Love that stocking!

I don't remember F! being that crowded when we went. yet I LOVE your location for the show. we were all the way to the right about 8th row all the action was where you were!!!
Camera tip... Low lights? Bust up your ISO to the highest it will help you.
Honestly your pictures came out wonderful!!!! :worship:

I WOULD LOVE to have seen Jim in his battles!!! I would have helped him.. :rotfl2:

Like you i will not be around.
So i would like to wish you, your family and friends a WARM and JOLLY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas!! :santa:

Thanks, I love that picture too! The seats weren't that bad for Fantasmic, there really isn't a bad seat unless you are on the very ends. I am glad I tried it but don't think it's worth using a FP+ on. Thanks you have a wonderful Christmas too!

The anniversary celebration was awesome! I love the guy behind us too, he just seemed to be enjoying the thing so much. I think he and his wife were celebrating their 30th. I hope Claire did something wonderful for them too.

I did try to get him interested in going for Star Wars weekends but he didn't seem too interested. Said it would be too hot to got then. But if they do a whole Star Wars area, he might be interested.

Hey tell him I color too I find it very relaxing and in my work bag is always a box of Crayolas and a coloring book

He loves to color and is always excited to find crayons at a table.

That store is Sid Cahuenga's One Of A Kind Shop unique and autographed items from stars of Movies, Sports, and Music that you can purchase The front porch now is a FP+ kiosk..that could change

Ah, ok. I think there used to be a store just like that at DTD on the West Side. I also vaguely remember one on Main Street in MK with sports memorablilia.

The great Dane on the porch I have wanted that since the 1980's but the damn thing is bolted down and someone is always looking

He would definitley be hard to get out of the park without being noticed. :rotfl:

Awww your Pluto stuff is adorable!!! Mickey is sending the cutest Pluto stuffie to our house on Christmas this year!!! Love that stocking!

Maybe when you guys went there were two shows for Fantasmic? There was only one on the night we were there which is why it was so crowded.

Thanks, I'll have to try that next time.

I WOULD LOVE to have seen Jim in his battles!!! I would have helped him.. :rotfl2:

I'm sure you would have helped him! I was bummed I didn't get the camera out of my bag in time.

Like you i will not be around.
So i would like to wish you, your family and friends a WARM and JOLLY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Love that picture of Pluto! Merry Christmas!

Well, I said I wasn't going to do any updates this week but I just have to post about this. It's not an actual TR update though but a real life one.

I think I've mentioned it before, but in case you missed it, I volunteer every Saturday at a local animal shelter. I was there this past Saturday of course and we did a lot of great adoptions. After Saturday, the shelter is closed until Thursday. When it's closed, the staff just comes in for a few hours each morning, cleans all the cages, feeds the animals and then leaves. So basically the animals are left alone for 22 hours each day.

There was one little guy that I just could not stand the thought of being left for those four days. So for the first time since we got Alex 7 years ago, another baby "followed" me home from the shelter.

Meet Remy:

He is a 4 year old Silky (or Yorkshire) Terrier. He weighs all of 5 pounds and is severly underweight. He came into the shelter as an owner surrender because they "didn't have time for him". It's obvious that he wasn't well taken care of, he had fleas when he came in and one of his ears is broken. His name was Goliath but Jim and I didn't like that so we changed it to Remy from Ratatouille.

He started out as a foster situation but I'm not sure he's going back to the shelter. The first day was very rough, he hasn't been around other dogs much and spent the whole day humping my other three. Eddie and Sierra corrected him by snapping and he stopped going after them. Alex though is too sweet and wouldn't do anything to stop him. He just got neutered on Friday so I'm thinking his hormones are way out of wack which isn't helping. Jim wanted to name him after the Porn Star Dirk Diggler but I put my foot down there. Poor guy just wouldn't stop, he was drooling and panting so badly. Here's a very bad cell phone picture I took right after he finally crashed.

Sunday, we started to correct his behavior by interrupting and telling him no. It got much better although he did get upset a little when we told him no. He would do laps for a bit around the couch each time we disciplined him. It's obvious he's got some OCD tendencies but I think that is just because of how he was treated.

We also took him to our vet on Sunday to get him checked out. Just wanted to make sure he was mostly healthy. We are mainly worried about how skinny he is. He doesn't like to eat much either. We are hoping he will calm down and start eating better soon. Here he is on the way home from the vets. He wanted to sit with Jim so badly but I didn't let him jump over there till we got into our subdivision.

We have him for sure until Wednesday since the shelter is closed. So far Eddie has totally accepted him into our pack. Sierra has not but she really doesn't like her two current brothers so I'm not surprised. She is quite the diva. Alex is still a little unsure and has been clinging to me a lot. But he did try both last night and this morning to engage Remy in play. I don't think Remy knows how to play, he probaby never had much of a chance before now. Alex is a very determined dog though and I don't think it will be long before he teaches him how to play.

At this point, I really don't think I will be taking him back to the shelter on Thursday.

Aww Remy is adorable! The picture of him "driving" with Jim is the cutest. How sad that he originally didn't get the care he deserved. If you do keep him (which is seems like you are) I know he will get lots of love and will hopefully adapt to his new environment quickly!

I apologize that I am so far behind everywhere... I am taking some time today to try and catch up - unfortunately - I am afraid it will be more of a skim and pick up where I can sort of catching up.

I loved your fantastmic pictures. Despite the 4 trips under our belt, we have only seen Fantasmic once, and my camera was dead by then - so no photos. As much as I'd love to see the show again - I have NO desire to fight those crowds... So, we will see if we ever make it back.

I love your newest Pluto stocking... I would love to see all of them together. They would make great "Doggie" stockings, since it seems you have one for each of your kids... Including the newest member of your family.

Speaking of which - I like the name Remy - it seems to fit him so well. I hope he has a good adjustment, and you are able to keep him - you are such good Doggie parents, that any dog would be super lucky to find your family. Please keep us updated! <3

Here I am...you & I are playing Disboard tag this morning ...I saw you over there, then I posted an update, now you get to go back there :duck: we will get nothing done today :rotfl:

You made me cry & then you made me laugh Remy isn't going anywhere You know I used to volunteer too Like you right before Christmas about 8 yrs ago a very nervous and abused fur baby came into our home ...temporarily :rolleyes1

She has " issues" she will never get over and that's okay she is one of the kids
That humping thing ...well ours is a female and purely a dominance thing to control the others...it failed miserably as Fantasia put her in her place Yours will teach him too How adorable in the car picture but the best was the " finally crashed" picture :lmao:

Soooo glad you put your foot down with the original thoughts on his name Remy is PERFECT what a itty bitty little bit of nothin' Congratulations Momma & Poppa to Remy Merry Christmas your life has just taken on a blessing you have yet to realize so behave :thumbsup2

Aww, Remy is too cute. I don't know much about dogs because I've never had one, but I hope his hormones settle down here soon. He's too cute. You're so sweet to bring him home. :)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I really enjoyed the Fantasmic! pictures. I have been places where the mooing thing has worked too - kind of surprised it didn’t in that situation!

Love the Christmas Pluto merch. So cute!!!

Awww - Remy is so cute. I love the driving pic. Hopefully, he can settle into the family and be able to get over some of his neuroses - poor little thing.

Good morning Ariana (and Jim too) - I wanted to stop by to wish you...
